I have a dilemma with my exhaust, I have a CPE turboback exhaust on my 08 Speed 3. I like the tone of the CPE, but I want more volume from my exhaust. My ideas are to sell it and buy an Ultimate Racing CBE with either just a resonator or a muffler. The cheaper option would be just to delete the muffler or resonator from my CPE system. I was wondering if anyone else has deleted the muffler from the CPE cat back and had a video of the setup? I'm thinking if I were to delete anything from the CPE, I would keep the resonator and delete the muffler.
Here was my drone setup. I have a stock muffler system after these set ups. Of course the stock factory lash-up was just a fitment check. So the cheapo ebay long pipe to stock exhaust muffler system was a horrible drone, was "loud" but if you want louder just run a straight pipe. I ended up with a Amazon vendor 3" after turbo "short pipe" to the resonator and then on to the stock system. No drone whatsoever. Absolute volume? Is definitely louder than stock. Not obnoxious though can cruise below 3k and it's a little bit louder than stock, but then is hard to tell with my bigger turbo and diamond motor mounts which cause some additional nice overall sound. Best thing about this way is can still return to stock.
