How to get around VTCS CEL

I dumbly have vtcs and egr deleted and need to pass emissions. I have heard there is a kit sold that dupes the ecu into thinking VTCS is still there but I can't find any real info about it. Hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I'm not very mechanically experienced so I don't think I could rig somethin up myself without detailed instructions.

You just need the black control box plugged into the harness no special kit

That part is unfortunately lost, was hoping someone knew about the kit I heard about. But if I found that black box that sits on top of the manifold could I just plug it in and leave it dangling? or would I have to hook it up to the plunger thing?

You need to have it hooked up to the actuator. The actuator turns the shaft which will hit the contact switch. That's how the ECU determines if the VTCS is working properly. On my car the arm on the shaft broken preventing the switch from contacting and threw a check engine light. I turned the codes off after that.

FWIW VTCS isn't an emissions device. It simply changes the way air flows through the intake manifold. EGR is a different situation as that is an emissions device.

Well then I'm really SOL, that actuator is broken. And I need to pass emissions which means getting an updated map with all monitors turned on, I can reinstall my EGR but still need to do something about the code my VTCS delete will throw

Throw the egr back in. Emissions covered. Are you in a state that won't allow any not-ready monitors?
