DTC's: lean at idle, rich at idle
Modifications built bottom and bolt ons
Cs fuel pump internal
ECU/Tuning Software: versa
Tuner: freak
Is the concern intermittent?
Yes but sometimes in boost it has hesitation and hiccups.
Can you duplicate the concern?
Happens every time
Recent Repairs:
New 02, new fuel relief valve, spark plugs.
Correction:

Hey guys so I’m kinda at a last resort with this. I can’t figure out what’s going on with my engine. I’ve never had the idle good ever since I got it so I’m not sure what’s even considered normal.
Car works great on start and cruise. On warm idle I can hear multiple pops in the exhaust and the idle jumps around with fuel trims I’ve seen as high as +25 to as low as -25 stft. It’s not fully tuned because of this and sometimes during wot I do get a hiccup and lately it’s been worse. It will idle fine for a couple minutes the goes sporadic then normal again. The other day I was at a car meet and my friend noticed my hpfp tick was inconsistent like it would stop for a second and then keep ticking and is related to the idle as well. I thought that a while ago but I’ve cleaned it multiple times and in wot I get 1700+ pressure so I’m not sure anymore.
I’ve checked for vacuum leak with smoke, replaced spark plugs, replaced fuel rail pressure relief which helped but didn’t fix my idle or trims. Cleaned hpfp multiple times and replaced 02.
I’ve been dealing with this for so long and read countless threads to get no where and its sickening. Thought about replacing the hpfp but I’m done throwing parts at her when she gives me no love. It’s my project car so I haven’t been to worried but now im just concerned about the longevity of not getting this fixed now. Thank you everyone.

What intake do you have and does it have an airflow straightener?

Also as another quick test you can either use vice grips or pliers to crimp the purge valve hose or just disconnect it and cap the end to see if you're getting tons of fuel vapor entering the engine causing your trim issues.

ltft of -9.4 at idle tells me you've got an air leak have you done a boost leak test? as part of that inspect the maf oring. spark plugs gapped per freektunes instructions for your tune? I assume around .026-.028" right?

Ive done a smoke test does that count as a boost leak test? And yes the plugs are gapped to .026 the plugs recommend by freak. I’ll get back to you on the maf :)

I’m running the cs 4inch intake and it does have a straightener in front. I’ve also disconnected all vacuum hoses a while back to test when I thought I had a vacuum leak. But I’ll definitely try again with some vice grips and report back!

Update, I got blue balled. Tried the vice grips and I thought it fixed it, stft was at 0 and ltft was at -8. Took it to the gas station and it started idle weird again and trims back to what they were.

smoke test unless it's done under pressure doesn't count as a boost leak test
Got it boost tested. Used a pvc cap and a bike stem I had laying around. Used some soap and water and nothing. Although I did lose a few psi I think it was just going into the crank case because it lost 2psi in like 8 minutes. Also checked the maf oring it was fine. I tighten it a little extra this time. Same result sadly. Forgot to mention I did have freak adjust my idle tune thinking it was a tune problem and it idles a little higher, idk if that has to do with anything with my ltft.

Update. Today I decided to check for exhaust leak with smoke tester and nothing. Decided to swap my old maf and wow I’m even more lost. My ltft went to 0, my stft is at 25 and it idles lean at 1.15 lambda but my idle is normal. Decided to by pass my intercooler straight to my throttle body and same result. My only guess is since I swapped my maf the tune is out of wack now. Any thoughts?
