Is a OCC really needed if you use no oil?

So I did my first oil change a few months ago after driving 4,000 miles. I've read all the stories of high oil consumption and every speed needing a catch can.

At 4k, my dipstick showed full...like practically no oil loss. I bought a OCC and everything needed but kept putting it off. Honestly, I don't want to go thru the hassle of installing it unless I need it.

Would like some people with good knowledge of this. It's gospel to tell everyone they need a OCC. If a car uses no oil, is a OCC still needed?
 
Just did some research on non speed sites and they all recommend DI turbo engines have them regardless. I figured that with no oil burning, there was a chance I could get by without one. This is my first DI engine so I'm still learning. Probably won't own another one. Thanks.

The way I understand it is that it is more of a longevity mod to help keep your motor healthy and happy, but not “technically” a necessity. Crank case venting seems to be just as big an issue imo as catch cans. I just fixed my screwed up motor tho that had a broken ring so won’t have nearly the problem with that as before most likely.

Just FYI, it’s not only DI motors that benefit from a catch can. Ours definitely benefits from having one but so would nearly any car. Some more than others. Just don’t want you to be jaded against an engine technology due to a supposed required mod when it’s not the only one that could use said mod.

I followed the Damond OCC install instructions and it was pretty easy to install. I also have small hands so that could have also made it easier to install as well.

You don't NEED it. Is it recommended to keep your engine healthy and regular? Yes.

Any kind of venting on these is a plus.
