So, We all know that the k04 has its drawbacks.. Most serious people on the forums went big turbo..

With that said, its likely that the k04 can safely do ... 20 -21psi (please correct me if im wrong)..

after that.. it becomes very inefficient and blows a ton of hot air that can ruin an engine pretty quickly..

Here is my question.. If you are using e85 to cool the chamber, what can you push the limit to on the k04?

what about a ton of meth (or meth/water).. what is the limit as well?

There was a guy on the old forum who built his engine and had like 450 torque on the k04 running crazy boost with a ton of intake meth and spraying meth..

At what point can the k04 just not push any more air?

I could be totally wrong, and prove my noobness, but what are the limits? (say 27psi with meth, eth etc.. be possible?)

sorry if this has been discussed in the past too much..

any feedback is appreciated..

Psi does not equal airflow if you put the ko4 hard enough you can make any boost numbers you want because the air will be so hot

i guess what your saying, is that..

hot air expands, and once the small turbo produces heat, even if the psi raises.. it can only push so much air regardless. So, 26 psi.. or 29 psi.. its not really that much more air flowing because of air expanding due to temp..

is this correct?

Heat increases pressure but reduces flow.
Bigger turbos can flow more air at lower PSI, because the wheels are larger and thus, are physically capable of flowing more air.

If you know how to read compressor maps, this should be rather enlightening. If not, google it and read up.

You can potentially flow water into the compressor wheel to improve the efficiency of the turbo, but at K04 size, you still won't get that much out of it.

What are you looking to get from this knowledge? More power from the stock turbo? If so, you'll wind up spending more on doing that than you would just upgrading to a larger turbo; can't cheat physics.

If your goal is to just fuck around and see how far you can get, I can tell you the what and how of it. Also the dude making 450 TQ probably only made that for like 500 RPM...Good number but...was it useful/worth it? Probably not. Kinda surprised the wheels didn't shatter.

@Enki thank you!

I get what your saying..thankfully there are a bunch of easy bolt on options now with turbos.

I'm in Florida and it's so hot, I feel like it car doesn't want to go lol..

Once I finish tuning, I'll go from there.

Thanks again

Humidity isn't helping any; it eats up airflow mass (reducing oxygen intake and thus further limiting power) while also being a good vector for absorbing combustion temps (not much, but lower heat = lower power).
