Hey guys I have a 2012 Ms3 with a full uily motor mailing around 600 who and I have been tracking the car a lot more and noticed heat is starting to become my enemy as I am out on the track for at least 3 20 min. Sessions. So I decided to upgrade the radiator as a starting point on battling this and decided to replace the stock radiator with a koyo radiator. As you can tell in the pictures it is a all aluminum radiator and is quite thicker than the stock radiator. After installing and having a few days of driving I have noticed my coolant temps are a lot cooler. Before hand coolant temps during this summer would be around 190-200 after installing this radiator I have noticed my coolant temps are now between 175-180 during high way and speeds and city driving. So if you are in need of a replacement radiator I would strongly suggest this as a replacement.

Love my koyo rad on my gen 1. Never see temps hit 200 unless I've been sitting in traffic for a while
 
cant really tell in the pictures but do you have all of the ducting installed on the front side of the radiator? you need to make sure that all of the air coming through the front of the car is forced through the radiator

I was wondering the same thing. Does anyone offer any thinner fans for us? I know I looked at Mishimoto and nothing from them
 
All the ducts fit with no interference with my treadstone fmic. If I get the car in the shop I'll take a picture

It is perfect OEM fitment, right down to the fan brackets. They actually make the fans fit a little tighter, so it seals against the radiator better. No fan interference at all.

The core is a little thicker and I believe the end tanks were a little thicker too. It retains all the OEM baffling, but with time the upper baffling will fall out. Its sponge like with an adhesive strip. I cut up a pool noodle and used it to seal the edges of the radiator better.

I can confirm that coolant temps while cruising are at least 10* colder, cant remember the exact delta now. My fans come on a heck of a lot less while daily driving in traffic.

I knew it was a direct swap. But wanted to make sure that the fmic install didn’t remove the ducting
 
I thought I would post a little update. About 2 weeks ago I decided to take the car to vir to scca track night. The car did awesome my coolant temps stayed around 195 for the entire 20-minute session. So in my opinion the radiator did an excellent job and definitely better compare to a oe radiator.

I had been considering this radiator. I don’t do track driving at this point, but I don’t like seeing the temperature go up as high as it sometimes does with normal city driving and heat soak happens a lot more quickly than I’d like.

Can you give the part number for the Koyorad that you installed? Thanks for the great details, and on the improvements of upgrades to your Mazdaspeed!

If you click his name you can see he was last here in November 2021. Maybe he'll turn up again.

Fair question, however since OP hasn't been around a while a quick Google search for the koyo rads for the speeds (edge Autosport has them listed)
