Head studs have always been a bit of a problem for the Mazdaspeed platform. People have had issues in the past with ARP 2000's and lifting heads, and this has driven the need to seek out stronger Head Studs. However, availability of the stronger Head Studs has proven to be pretty spotty causing build delays and forcing some to just stick with the Stock Head Bolts.

Fortunately, you no longer need to delay your build waiting for stronger Head Studs. We now have the ARP L19 Head Studs in stock and ready to ship.

ARP's L19 head stud material has a higher tensile strength than the stock Ford and Mazda head studs and the ARP 2000 head studs currently available. Compared to the 220,000psi clamp load of the ARP 2000, the L19 will allow 260,000psi clamping load. The L19 is ideal for those looking to achieve much higher than stock power and torque levels.

The ARP L19 Head Stud Kit for the Mazdaspeed 3 and 6, and Focus ST is $369 shipped to the continental US.

These are currently in stock and available to ship immediately while supplies last.

There was some thread on the other forum (that who's name we do not speak), of someone running a custom head gasket. I think it was from cometic and he asked them to make it out of the same material they use for the high HP evo guys.

Only reason I bring it up here is that it would be amazing to get it along with these magical headstuds from you guys.

Pretty please....

But yes these are nice. I helped a Nator bro swap these into his built motor and they are beefy.

Here is the link to the custom gaskets thread. Folks who migrated to this forum did it for a reason; do not think for a moment that linking to the MSF will result in an exodus here.

I'll check into the custom Cometic Gaskets and see what can be done to get more of them made.

I've heard stuff either way: do these require a re-torquing procedure?
