MazdaSpeed head tapping/knocking.

I’m new to this not sure if this the right place to post.
hopefully someone can help me.

did my timing & vvt on my MS6 and that I’m all done everything back together I hear a tapping/knocking from head not block.
car started right up with no problem, idles perfect and throttle response is fine.
what could it be?

you need to start by pulling the valve cover and inspecting everything you can with it off.

When you pull off valve cover, look at oil coating on surfaces that you would expect to be wet/flooded/ coated. Helps to verify that oil passages are clear. Check valve clearances, yes you already did.....but now considering knock. Something is different. Also while doing valves double check timing is still as was done correctly on vvt install, diamond washers may have moved/shifted on crank shaft or either cam.
