MS6 HID headlights

I'm in the market for at the very least a passenger headlight for my speed 6 but is it hard to wire led regular 6 lights for a speed? I wouldn't mind doing led. I mainly am not the best at figuring out the wiring and all that. If I had a chart to show which headlight wires were for what maybe but I don't have any of that so idk how to rewire.

I've not had a regular 6 headlight in my hands, so, I can't be certain. But, if I was going use a regular 6 headlight, because presumably you are having trouble finding a Speed 6 headlight, I think the bracket for the HID would fit in the regular 6. Upgrade both sides with a new HID projector. Then either get a new ballast, or reuse your old one if it still works.

I don't know about how to rewire for LED.

I actually purchased some Morimoto 4TL-R projector housings, im hoping they actually fit? I am now at the point where I dont know if i want to mess with baking the headlights open to put them in. Or if i want to just find a really nice set of headlights with upgraded lighting stuff already done. Stock headlights are horrible for lighting...

I looked at aftermarket headlight assemblies. I didn't find any that I wanted. One that I found looked cool, but actually was plain 'ol halogen. Others were often LED. Which are not necessarily street legal. I didn't find any aftermarket assemblies that used HID.

As far as using the Morimoto 4TL-R, you'll need to fashion a bracket yourself. There was a kit for the Speed to use those projectors, but it's not made anymore. I had that kit. The bracket wasn't perfect. That was among the reasons I contracted with Custom Bracket Designs to make the bracket to fit the Micro D2S. I'm pretty confident that you will find that this is what you want.

Hi, sorry to disturb this thread again. Not sure if you saw my earlier comment. But since the months went by I kinda just lived with the distorted lens. No complaints about the projector though! With this projector plus the clear lens, the brightness was on par with probably most of the cars on the road with OEM HID lights.
Probably should’ve thanked you earlier, but thanks for sharing this retrofit option!
Could you share the link where you bought your lens from? I may or may not want to open it up again in the future for another change and just keep the odd lens as a spare… Just for reference purposes, below is the new lens beside the old lens. (Both had new projectors)
Notice that the new one is quite “wavy”, causing the projector to look as though it wasn’t round.IMG_8695.png

Hey, sorry about the delayed response. Thanks for the link!
Yeah... I understand ya. But I think if there were any issues with the optics you should be able to see the problem on the lens themselves without being installed on the car. The shop that did the installation for me did allow me to take a look at the lens but I didn't pay attention or take a reference photo back then. There's a post on the Mazda 6 forums (not sure if I can link the thread) where the guy had bought his lens from oemxenonshop and they seemed to look pretty decent. I didn't initially opt for that because it was about 3 times the price. But that's probably what I would go for in the future should the current lens deteriorate eventually.
