What's good yall, glad to be back on a forum.
I have an 08 Speed 3 (135k/miles) that I've had in various states of tune over the last 8 years with a BNR S2. A few months ago found dwindling compression in cylinder three and a loosening chain, so I have a built motor on the way from Beltec Performance in Canada.
Any recommendations for accessories that need to be replaced (water pump, thermo, etc.) prior to install would be greatly appreciated. I already have a new clutch kit and new O2s. The motor will come sealed so no need to timing equipment.
Going to grab intake and exhaust gaskets, the Damond trilogy, injector seals, and get them cleaned and tested- may need to get the turbo rebuilt (it has like 50k/m), getting a catted dp too.
Also- If you can point me in the right direction of an engine removal "how to" that would be awesome.
This will be my first motor pull so I want to be as prepared as possible.

Welcome and Beltec is good people! As far as stuff to get, water pump and thermostat are great. Get a Pcv plate, new Pcv, and an oil catch can. Consider new coolant hoses too. Be super careful removing the harnesses as new not available anymore

I do wish we had a how to on removal. Lots of you tubers. Did it.

Thanks for he heads up. That's not a bad list at all. Just might be able to keep my cost down if I don't get carried away.

Consumables that you don't wanna deal with. Our cars are old so it's time.
