Hello all
I finally managed to put an end to the dreadful woo woo noise when you have the steering wheel full turn on very low speeds
The cause is known, it is coming from the LSD which uses clutch pack to differentiate the front axle left and right wheels speed, the clutch pack get worn after many years of driving and no solution for it other than replacing the diff
The same OEM diff in Australia will cost 6.5 K and is not available anymore, also there was no clutch pack available to the diff and the only offer I had was to retention the spring that pushes on the two side gears
So, I planned to change the diff with a non-clutch pack LSD, I got one from Quaife in the UK, which is lifetime warranty and service free, it is a helical ATB (Automatic Torque Bias) differential, which produces no noise whatsoever
I took the gearbox off the car myself and managed to dismantle and change all bearings inside it myself along with the new Quaife diff
No woo woo sound now, and the car even feels much better and more stable while cornering on any speed, the torque steering almost eliminated and the car now follows a line while cornering that is less in both over and under steering, could not be much happier and doing the job DYI is actually not that hard and will be happy to provide all the info required regarding all parts, tools and how you do the job perfectly with least issues you may face
