Please help! P2188 CODE

I recently purchased a built motor Mazdaspeed3 1st gen. I immediately slapped a CST5 and 3.5 inch intake. I keep getting too rich at idle code and it is indeed running too rich. Once I get moving AFR evens out but STFT stays at -25. If I am driving and let off the gas and coast in gear the STFT act fine it is only when I am in neutral. If anybody can help as I am new to the platform. Thanks!

Who is tuning you? Full mod list?

Did you do a boost leak test? Sounds like you've got a leak or your MAF cal is off in the tune for the bigger intake.

I haven't done a leak test yet. It seemed to straighten out for the most part. I just reset the ecu and have -20 stft again. Everything else seems fine and while driving the numbers even out it is just at idle. If negative at idle is that a leak on the intake side or or between the turbo and throttle body? I keep seeing conflicting answers. Also I did find a Crack on the bottom of my maf sensor where it holds the oring so I put a slightly larger one in to seal until my new one gets here

Sorry about ghosting, it wasn't intentional. New to the platform and didn't have alerts set. I found a crack in the maf sensor where it holds the oring so a new one is coming. The problem seemed to go away after putting a larger oring on and the ltft was averaging about -8 and the stft seemed to stay with 3 both ways. I just reset the ecu and am now back to almost -20 stft at idle. Would the leak be on the intake side or between the turbo and throttle body? I keep seeing conflicting answers. Thanks again for everbodies help and sorry I didn't get right back to ya'll.

The leak can be anywhere from the MAF sensor to the head on the intake side. Yes I consider maf through turbo to intake valves to be intake side as that's all intake air for the engine. Could be pre or post turbo, a leak anywhere in whole intake track will cause fuel trim issues. Heck an exhaust leak pre primary oxygen sensor will also cause issues, usually it's intake side.

To add to this, I just dealt with a few issues over the summer with leaks causing STFT and LTFT issues. One of my issues was an EGR that was leaking which was revealed with smoke testing.

So like you said Awa there's a LOT of possibilities!

I am going to do boost leak test today. I am finally getting somewhere though. My LTFT is almost perfect even after driving a couple hundred miles and my STFT is damn near perfect majority of the time other than after a WOT pull. Directly after WOT it jumps up to +25 and goes right back to almost zero. Is this normal?

Does the rpm hunt when coasting in neutral?
Usually after WOT and I go to neutral it spikes to +25 and then goes right back to close to zero
