Anyone have a pic of the Rear Main Seal tool?

I ordered the seal from Edge, and they sent me the damn seal without the tool. Their website said it was supposed to come with the tool. Fuck.

I am going to tackle a job this weekend, so no time to source one. If anyone has any pics of one or can take measurements for me, I may be able to make my own tool to work.

@Sho
@JohnnyTightlips

Anyone...? Thank you in advance for your help.

The tool is the plastic piece in the middle, helps you get it over the crank without folding the seal.

I've seen that pic on their site.

This thing just keeps the seal from getting pinched? Or is it needed to fold the seal lip a certain way onto the crank?

Every set of instructions I have found are pretty vague, which is why I am asking for help before I tear into the car.

I am keeping YouTube as a last resort....

Thank you!

That is exactly what I needed to see!

I should be able to figure something out now...

For a minute I thought you were going to respond thinking the white thing was packing material

I am silly but not stupid.

I'll post pics of the carnage next week.

I wont know the full extent of the damage until I tear into it, but what I thought was a hydraulic problem, is turning out to be a clutch problem.

I am preparing myself for any surprises, otherwise Penguin is going to light the car on fire and buy an accord.

Anyone have a hack for this? I want to tackle this during my clutch replacement but it seems that Mazda is no longer including the tool for this.

Mahle was one I used. The seal is double lipped and a dust (paper? Fabric?) Cover towards clutch side. The seal is described as with a retainer, it installs in place over flywheel bolt flange. Then when you pull it out/off. Maybe buy a Rock auto cheap! +30$ seal and save your current one as spare. Another cheap Chinese one had slipped out of seal on another I had and one side is angled just enough to allow reposition of "retainer" to allow correct fitment. Was impressed with amount of seal expandedScreenshot_20230527-113049.png Screenshot_20230527-112947.png to get from relaxed to install with retainer.
