Hey there im having a problem with my 2010 Mazdaspeed 3. I just put a new built engine in it with a big turbo and it is currently being tuned. The problem is the car won’t go past 4500rpm in any gear. It backfires and sounds like a 2-step competition when it hits it. My rpms also seem to go all over the place and I’m not sure what to do. I’ve tried accelerating slowly past and still nothing. Car also is not passing 11psi of boost when it should be around 16-17psi. Any help is appreciated

Plugs properly gapped and not Amazon or ebay? Any codes or logs?

So Justin suggested having the NGK 6510 gapped at 0.028, codes it only has the P0300. I will get a file of it here once I’m home
 
just to be clear this isnt a result of whatever is set in the base tune correct? like you arent trying to redline when you should be doing a MAF cal?

I don’t believe so, I wasn’t told anything about it other than the car should not go past 17psi of boost ever.
 
Did Justin review the logs?
 
Don't worry about it until your tuner says to worry about it
