Replace engine ?

I have a 2013 Speed3 with 175km and my mechanic said the engine needs replacement. Knocking from bottom end, bent rod and camshaft timing issue. The value of this car in working condition is approx 10k and the cost to replace engine is just over 6k. Is it worth it to replace or will there be value selling with the blown motor ?

Worth about 2500-3500 with a blown motor around Ontario depending on parts you have/include with it. It really is up to you. 6k does seem a little high to replace the motor but depends I guess on shop rate and what they get the long block for $$ wise.
 
I bought a speed 6 knowing at least a bad rod. If you have internal forged, external parts and records for supporting mods. As I did knowing what I was buying.
I spent 3400 and thought I got a good buying price. So check your local prices, and especially if your area has none for sale, but still within bring a trailer... Might work out.
 
I've reached out to one of my speed guys I know around the GTA he always knows people with engines, to see if someone has something running for you. There's also an engine builder in Peterborough I think it is that has done tons of speed engines can't recall the name but same guy will have it. Will update you once he gets back to me.

Edit: engine builder is mark at Peterborough machine and my buddy will have an engine from his ms6 for sale shortly (he's in Peterborough)

Edit 2: his engine is already spoken for sorry
