quick background:
bought a CS OCC when car had 450 miles on it. installed with check valve but at the time, installed it after the OCC. this was apparently a no-no and i did not know that at the time. long story short, i blew the top off the OCC and it left me stranded for a few minutes. whoops. went on to buy a JBR OCC after speaking directly to James and he said i could even leave the check valve as-is. his OCCs were pressure tested to 150 psi. so that's where that's been for at least 45k miles. this was in 2012.
i have the mani off and am attempting the valve cleaing, etc. prolly gonna change out the pcv valve since i'm right there. now...do i update/change my OCC as well? maybe put the check valve in the right damn place? i dunno if OCCs sort of wear out or not...or if being under pressure that long matters. the valve to drain it is a little rusty and sorta crusty (sure i could just replace that).
also...it does not VTA. i just started a tune relationship with Hypnotic but have yet to do any logging per engine all tore apart. i'm not sure what boost psi this new tune will get to nor if VTA is absolutely necessary. i saw JBR's VTA option and i'm uncertain about it. all that plastic tubing...i dunno. looks ballsy. the Damond can looks more put together for it. but it's another $200. ugh.
thoughts? just another over-thinking subject on my part?
