Hey there MSO. Long time, no post. I'm still around, though, and will be in Mazdas for life! I've actually had my eye on a genpu or two, but other shit keeps coming up and I'm perpetually broker than a baby's toy. So our MSP will be my daily driver for...who knows?

Screw that though, this thread is about the other car.

About a year ago I took my FD in for a dyno tune. I seemed to be losing boost in the upper end, and thought I'd have it checked out. While on the dyno at around 5000rpms (when the secondary turbo kicks in) one of the turbos imploded and sent itself through the engine. It wasn't a pretty sight.:partyhat: lol That's one way to find out if the turbos are still good, I guess.
Long ordeal short, the car will be back on the road within the next week or so. Here's a little record of what went into it in the last year and what happens in the future, because there's definitely more to come.

Sakebomb Garage HID kit. The pop-ups STAY!

New Rotary Extreme trailing links and toe arms, also new J-Auto Pillowballs everywhere, as well as new RE adjustable endlinks on all 4 corners. The ZEAL coilovers were also sent to Endless in San Diego for a rebuild.

Brake job...EBC Yellow and Superblue with new rotors and some fresh SS lines. The calipers were also rebuilt.

What you can't see is over 10G's in a brand new engine from Addicted Motorsports. Street ported, new BNR Stg3 turbos, new OEM wiring harness (!), IRP motor mounts, new HKS dp and Bonez cat, etc. I'm sure there's a shit-ton more I'll remember. It's been a long year.

Aligned, corner balanced and almost ready! Sitting on semi-stock (OEM but Japanese only) wheels at its home for the last year. We're waiting for the new headlight covers to be painted, a full detail in and out, then it'll be time to putt around for 500 or so miles so that Steve Kan can tune the Apex'i PowerFC again. I'm looking for right around 300-320hp to the wheels, nice and safe. Also, speaking of wheels, the wheels I usually have are being refinished by CCW. New 255/40-17 RE11s are waiting to be installed.

Unfortunate that your turbo decided to blow chunks into your engine, glad she's almost running again

Out of all the 1990s twin turbosmthe Fd is amazing but the TT Supra 2jzgte is the king for that generation

It really depends on what you wanna do. You're right about the 2JZ. If 1/4 mile racing is your thing, That engine is the king.
But for road racing...The FD weighed less, cornered better, and had less computerized driver aids going on.

Thanks for the compliments, you guys. It's been a long expensive year but I don't plan on selling the car anytime soon, so I figured fuck it. May as well take care of it.
