Hello,
I purchased a vehicle which has Versatuner and have the relevant Versatuner files from the owner and created a map for myself. It doesn't seem like there's any easy way of synchronizing these map files between computers.
Previously I tuned with Accesstuner Race. I have two laptops and two desktop computers. The way I organize and synchronize my map files for ATR is using a shared network drive. When I am on the road, I tune cars using one of the laptops. I have all of my copies of Accesstuner Race (MS6, 07-09 MS3, etc) pointing to save map files to the shared drive, which operates in offline mode when I am on the road. When I pull into my driveway, the laptop auto-syncs the map files to my shared drive via wi-fi. I can then edit the map files using my other computers, which is much preferred compared to using my laptop (dual screens, keyboard and mouse, that type of thing). This also synchronizes automatically to the laptop inside the car obviously when I create new files.
I am trying to figure out how to easily reproduce this system within VT. First off, unlike Accesstuner Race, I cannot find a single discrete location within Windows in which all Versatuner executable and related files are contained, so I can't simply copy the entire installation from one computer to another, which is not really that big of a deal in and of itself, but becomes a problem when Versatuner doesn't:
1) Actually create and read from discrete map files - the only way map files can be created is via the export feature
2) Allow the save location of the map files to be changed
It could be that I'm missing something, or there is a way to simply copy the entire VT installation to the shared drive and execute off that, which would be acceptable. What I don't want under any circumstances is for the version on the in-car laptop to be the only "live" version, as failures happen and keeping everything backed up on my shared drive (which is a RAID 1) is important to me.
Another item - is there an easy way to switch between multiple licenses using Versatuner? For example if I am tuning a colleague's car, do I have to install VT each time I want to tune or create map files for a different car?
Looking forward to using your product more. So far it is much improved compared to the last time I used it (quite some time ago) - the only problem I noticed was about a 5 second lag when copying an entire table into another table but otherwise the speed was much improved.
