When I did my motor I think I used the list from one of the kits Edge sells as a cheat to figure out everything I needed. I then found the cheapest Mazda dealer online and ordered everything.

lol no way anyone thinks that's serious, building my speed but I don't know I need a tune, I already ordered a tune from will and the tune that's currently on my car from justin is disappointing

I misread awa's suggestions, I thought he said dramtuned not purple drank, worked 12 hours in the heat wasn't all there. Purple drank is who im going with I've heard great things and my engine builder suggests him. As for justin, my last speed was tuned by him and was good however for this car he messed up the Maf cal on the base map and my car was throwing too rich codes, he eventually got it sorted after 3 revisions and about a months time on a ots+ which is supposed to be one revision. Just don't like the long wait times with justin and apparently will is better and he's already been super helpful with helping me pick out certain parts.

So after 6 long days in a hot ass garage the speed is back together with a built motor and lots of new mods, the most nerve racking part was installing the clutch since I had never done one before but everything went smooth and I got lucky the tranny popped right on, the intercooler was a pain in the ass but I got it done it was a Gen 1 cx racing piping kit going on a gen 2 with a focus st manifold, I ended up having to put the pipe with the bov flange on the hot side
First start was today and everything went great besides 2 fuel leaks that were easily fixes, the first one was the pi line connecting the firewall wasn’t tight enough and then once it was running for a couple seconds I noticed the feed for the fuel rail was leaking the o ring was toast but luckily I have a parts car that had a good o ring
Here’s some pics, I’m super happy with it can’t wait to finish breaking it in (using driven br40 for the oil) and give it some boost

Some personal preference things I might change is the exhaust is way too loud, I love the sound but it’s too much to the point I’m scared for getting pulled over and I feel bad for the neighbors especially with 6am cold starts for work every morning
I also need to find some new heat shields it’s way too hot in the cap, the one on the firewall and upper exhaust tunnel was toast and I just took them off cause they were falling apart

So my speed flooded 2 Fridays ago, water was up to the bottom of the shifter (the water got up higher then it is in the picture below), I got to work quick ripping everything out and cleaning and drying everything including the harness, got it started a couple days ago and everything seems good so far besides no noise coming from the radio and my electric driver seat motors don’t work
My full race exhaust manifold cracked so I’m back on stock manifold

yeah definitely a nightmare but everything seems to be good, got some vacuum leaks to find this weekend as my left are -14 at idle, high vacuum and closer to 0 on all other conditions, hoping to start the pi tune soon

Last couple weeks,
Absolutely shredded oem passenger axle
Got a random ecu code that’s super random killed the car once and hasn’t been back since
Started pi tuning, 2 revisions in so far
