Tire size?

I just noticed the factory tire size is 215/45R18. This is a surprise because I bought the car with 225/45R18 and just assumed that is the factory size. I looked it up and I see 225 as an alternate tire size.

But it got me wondering what others run on their cars. And is that extra centimeter noticeably better?

Also, what was the factory speed rating for the tires?

The tire width kind of depends on what you're using the car for. Daily whip? stick with the narrow(er) tire for less rolling resistance and better MPG. Actually the narrow would work too for a winter beater.
