Trying to figure out what this is

So there is a strong smell of gas and noticed drops of what I think is fuel dropping from whatever this is on the engine.

I'm looking at the small thing in the center of the photo, appears to be a hard line with two screws on either side

That is your fuel line that attaches to your fuel rail. Cracking of said line is not uncommon. You can get a replacement from mazda or you can get the corksport flexible replacement that won't crack over time.

Might want to double check with them if the line is applicable to the CX7. It should work.
