I'm about to pull the trigger on used Autotech HPFP internals, what should I look out for?

I think they have about 10K miles on them. Any risks buying used?

FYI they will set me back $250.

TIA

I got mine for the same price... I guess make sure there are no scratches or scoring of the piston.... And that it comes with all of the pieces

Of all the parts on our cars that are bought and sold on the used market HPFP bits is not one I would ever try and save a few dollars on. Spend the money, get the warranty and do the job correctly and all is well. Not to mention the people scamming folks on some of the forums and FB.

Hell, I struggle with why anyone would waste the time to swap pump bits prior to selling the car. Leave them in and move on, there are other parts worth swapping if you have OEM parts handy.

If you use Paypal then I would suggest to stipulate some return period in payment terms. Just in case it fails the test run.

It's $250 for 1 hour of easy work. And seller may be parting out car totaled in accident.

The seller is parting out due to selling the speed to get the significant other a SUV to haul the kids around.

I drove his speed when the internals were installed and the car seemed to be running fine. The owner is a master technician and has owned/worked on multiple speeds. In either case, I've decided not to proceed with purchase. But I am buying his broken in RMM now :).

There is a certain level of comfort knowing the history of the car before moving forward with the purchase.

If you're buying new, RPM has them for 10% off with their tax return sale. Ordered mine a couple weeks ago.
