Valve Spring/Retainers

Hey MSO,
When I rebuilt my engine, I bought BC0400S valve spring/retainers for a 2.3l mzr. When I gave it to the machine shop to install while they're cutting my valve seats, hot tank, etc, they gave it back saying that it wouldn't work and it was wrong. I have a few pics for you all to see attached. First pic is the oem spring, retainer, valve, and keeper. Next pic is the GM Ecotec retainer with oem keepers, which we all know works with our valves. Last pic is the BC valve spring/retainer kit with oem valve and retainers. Does anybody see anything wrong with the BC set up ?? I ordered the ecotec retainers since the BC's supposedly wouldn't work ..
Thanks for any drops of knowledge all

Are they correct ? Thanks. They feel like they fit in the valve nicely

That is indeed the part number listed.

The gap between the keepers are too big for the shop to be comfortable assembling it...

However everyone else seems to be using the older 2.3 design for the focus from crower (68195-16) along with the ecotech retainers.

Your best option is to order new keepers and call it a day.

Ahhhhh you live and you learn haha. Since I already have the ecotec retainers on hand, I'll go with the tried and true crower/ecotec combination. Thanks for the advice bud !
