VTCS delete Idle

I am sure this has been asked before, but I am looking to take a bit of a survey.

When the Variable Tumble Control System is deleted, some people state that their cold idle is worse, some people say that they didn't see a difference. This means that some people are numb to idle comfort or others are doing something wrong.

Was hoping people can share their experience of how their car performed after VTCS delete? Did you plug all the pipes or leave the control system in place without the actuating rod?

Thanks,

Phil.

I'm probably not the best candidate for this as I added a Corksport throttle body at the same time as their intake manifold (no vtcs provisions) and get the pretty common stumbling angry cold start that clears up in 10-30 seconds. I have been able to bypass this however by lightly depressing the throttle during startup and immediately lifting as soon as the engine starts.

You can tune out the high rpm cold start. How was on the old forum, but its possible.

For me, it is actually a problem after the engine RPMs settle and the engine is still cold. Throttle response is also quite bad. I can hold the throttle at 25% and it will slowly stumble its way to 3k rpm, after that all hesitation goes away.

Are you sure you dont have a leak somewhere? I am assuming we are talking summer time cold starts, and not winter time?

Take a log. Upload it https://www.revisionsrus.com/ or here https://datazap.me/ Also you can not tune out the high cold start RPM. You can tap the gas at start just right to get it to bypass it but if you miss it you just rev it louder. Mine pretty jerky and needs more throttle when cold but I also have a ported head and JMF intake mani. I did not see any issues on the stock parts with my friends car and vtcs at least not as bad as you are saying.

It's almost like you removed the system that prevents that when the engine is cold..
