Haha. I do have the fastest lap time yes!! I have one civic friend who’s a little faster but his car has 60-70whp on me and he’s been karting for like 20 years so I don’t really consider it a fair fight lol.

DO NOT BUY THE FALKENS. I tried recommending them to people but they truly are a cheap tire for a reason. These failures are ridiculous.

I’ll be trying Nankang next season.

    AR1s or the NS2?
My friend runs NS2s on a 323 with a KL-ZE. He loves them, however I dont think he has seen much track time in the last few years, and usually only went a couple times a year. He runs them on the street too, lol.

NS2’s and AR1’s are both old and slow lol.

nankangs CR-S is the new hot tire. They totally ripped off the Yokohama a052 which is the fastest 200tw tire money can buy currently. They did a 100% copy. Even the compound is the same.

I’ll be trying the CR-S next season I think.

Nankang just needs to buy a single tire. They don’t need to be friends to reverse engineer the tire and sell it as their own lol.

Too bad it seems Nankang doesn’t make my rear size. I was going to fill out a sponsorship form and see if they wanna help me out. Damn. Guess I’m backing to tire shopping

Did a little tune correcting on the civic. Made it up to 174whp and 140wtq.

still a total buzz kill lol. Motor is tired. My plans to add power are out the window. We’re gonna do an exhaust, then just continue sending it next season.

I’m bummed because it’s getting a bit boring. Soon as I open the steering wheel it’s just like “yea ok I guess I’ll check my messages while I’m on this straight for 20 seconds”

least it picked up power everywhere? I guess? Not excited lol. Haven’t driven the car yet but I don’t really care to. Meh

Why are your plans to add power out the window? You could make plenty of power with a few more mods. Some cams, springs, E85 and a supercharger and you're good.

It may just feel meh cause you've gotten so used to the car and it's power than you're ready to step up to more. Even my Speed got boring after a while once I was used to the power. Same goes for my Miata. But once I take someone for a ride in it they're saying "Holy crap this thing is fast!"

I think I’m just bummed because the car is so down on power. It really should be making 185-195whp.

i have cams and a throttle body for it. The plan was to do those, and an exhaust and hit that golden 215-230whp mark but my motor is nowhere even close.
I just feel like there’s no point in investing any further into this motor. It’s clearly toast.

Sucks because next season will just be the same shit. Same power. Same everything. I’ll find some time for sure, but it won’t nearly be what it should.

I wanted to compete next season but the car is far from competitive given the low power numbers.

It’s always impressive in the corners. Blows peoples minds actually but as soon as we get into any straight away it’s a total fucking slouch. Like the car makes normal people power. Most of my passengers have a faster car lol. In the straights anyways. Just kinda…like a buzz kill.

Is it burning oil? Does it have consistent compression across the cylinders? How many miles are on it

Burns the regular amount of oil. Nothing overly excessive really. It doesn’t smoke or anything. Starts/idles/runs great.

Compression we didn’t bother to check. I’m assuming it’s low overall. All cylinders are probably down some.

Mileage is 260,000kms = 161,000miles. It’s not really too crazy? It’s been to the track 27 times in my ownership. Previous owner never tracked it but being a “Honda kid” he beat the fuck out of it.

Why not just find a cheap K24 to use?

I’ve got a k20z3 long block sitting in pieces in a tote somewhere at the shop. It’s back from machining. I’ve got the rods and pistons and shit for it as well.

it’s to be my turbo motor. It’s stock compression, so technically I could run it NA but everyone’s telling me that’s dumb just save that motor for boost.

the thoughts of buying another motor to use for a single season bothers me. It wouldn’t be cheap after my ocd makes me replace all seals/gaskets/oil pump/whatever else

If you have everything to put the motor together minus the turbo setup then why not just run it NA and then install the turbo later if your internals are setup for turbo?

Or why not get a 100 shot of nitrous and use that for the straights in your events? It'll give you a little extra edge and you don't have to do much to get a system installed.

Yea I was thinking to assemble the turbo motor and just run it maybe. It’s 0.5 higher compression over stock so it should make decent power NA and rev higher.

everyone keeps telling me to just save it for the turbo build but if I need a motor…that’s my best bet.

a buddy of mine mentioned a 75 shot today and now you’re also suggesting nitrous. That’s funny lol. Maybe I should look into it, just down the straights it would help

I'm not sure where you're at in terms of injector DC but if you have room you could squeeze a larger dry shot in. 75 is definitely safe and you'll notice a gain but if you can add that extra 25 without worry I'd do that. Or just do a wet shot.

My friend had a Ford Probe V6 back in the day (early 2000's) with a 100 shot. It ripped and you could feel the power increase when it sprayed. I even saw him run an Evo VIII and do fairly well against it. Which is impressive considering the stock performance of an Evo vs a Probe. All his car had was a custom intake and a Borla exhaust.

Looked into it a bit. Ecu has no real way to control for a dry shot. Wet shot is all that’s recommended

Finally got the bbk installed again. Just picked the rotors up today finally.

Will be nice to have the weight reduction back even if I’m not using the brakes as much these days.

stoptech spec is 5ftlbs for the hardware holding the rotors together. They include green loctite and say that it’ll hold. Crazy lol

How does your car compare to other cars that have used the same Dyno? Maybe it just reads low?

I would install whatever you have on this motor and send it.

We did a buddies tsx like a month ago and after bolt ons and a tune it made an expected 220whp 185wtq. That motors even higher mileage then mine lol so I think the dyno is correct. It might read a little low but I’ve always seen that dynapacks read high if anything. Not sure

i have to do the exhaust for sure. I have cams and a throttle body and those mods add good power together but not sure if there’s a point with this motor. It’ll maybe break 200whp lol

that said I drove the car a bunch today. That 10hp/10tq that buddy added is definitely a little noticeable. It’s not huge but it’s there so that’s something
