I had panned to write something up, just haven't found the time, and the car keeps changing. The next few weeks or month will teach us a lot. Hope to have it in near complete condition then, and will write something up.
A new control system. Rumor was that ms6 and gen1 can't rev past 8k on stock ECU. I verified on our track car that the ecu just cuts out at 8k. Wasn't seeing any signs from software vendors to let us get there, so made the move. The hardware was a concern, so we made sure to monitor...
The exhaust pipe sticks above the hood just a bit so no fireballs inside. The filter was just there because I didn't want to break in a new motor without one. We have a shorter pipe to close the hood with a filter, but it will likely be rammed through the headlight with no filter later in the...
Stg3 Total MPS cams from @Freektune; Fuel is E98, because fuck it. I actually wanted to do some testing with E85 (because we're probably not burning all the E in 98), but we ran out of time.
Fuel is from a kit we've been working on for a little while. Dual Walbro 450 in a Damond surge tank.
Finally got this car put together and on the rollers to get tuned. Took all day to get the standalone tuned and running properly, but it was worth it. 734 AWHP on a mustang, and power all the way out to 9k.
I've never driven anything with half this power, so I got some learning to do. It's...
It might. You'd need little brackets to bolt the front of the TMIC down (those would be easy). I'm not sure if the stock boost tube would still work with the throttle body, but I suspect it would.
It does not. That would require an even thicker adapter.
Injectors are angled towards the valves.
Effectively, yes.
No, but it can support all the woosh woosh sounds your turbo of choice can
Could say that about NASCAR, or any racing series that has a "less than F1 or top fuel" bar for it's particular set of restrictions. It's a challenge in all cases.
Going after the big boy list this year. Lots of good stuff happening with the car in the coming months.
Had the pleasure of driving this car at EMWNM Autocross this weekend. It was the most fun I've had behind a wheel this year. Aside from some minor heat issues due to the insane ambient temps, car ran like a champ. Thanks for the ride @VTMongoose, and thanks for the company.
