With that much spring in the rear, for such a lightweight car, plus the trailing arm with that wide poly bushing, how much passive steering do you plan to use? You may not get that much flex, and not need to worry about it with this current set up.

Those hub stands are really cool! I'm kinda jelly... As light as that car is, it seems like the 600/800 combo might be a bit stiff, but you know what you're doing. I'm just reading eagerly.

If those "younger ways" involved alcohol, then they felt better BECAUSE you were younger. Not because of the alcohol I point that out because you led with the blood sugar statement.

Coffee, weed breaks, and the the occassional afternoon Celsius do it for me. Cool build!

Update. Swapped thermostats and coolant pressure cap with new OEM ones. While flushing the cooling system I noticed that whenever we put headers on this thing, the block drains will be damn near impossible to access. I overfilled the damn cooling system after burping it and made the engine...

    Worbit’s “Another MS3 Build Thread”

I had mine replaced under warranty, but it rattled everywhere. So one day I removed the whole thing again, and resecured it. It's not hard. It does take a lot of time because you dont want to scratch or damage anything. Do it under shade, and set a whole day aside for it.

Update While waiting on the new bearings and other parts to come in, we noticed a fairly noticeable coolant leak. Repair detour..... It started out small and has been around for a while, but this last winter has decided to get much worse. It took me a minute to find it. These Ford Modular...

Tell me about it. My old diesel truck has been my daily driver for a year now, and I've been dieing to work on the speed. I still have a whole brand new aquamist kit in a box, waiting to get installed since 2020. Owning a home sucks. I had more time to wrench when we used to rent. But on...

Pink Pony Club or "The S197 Blues"

Hi everyone! Its been a while since I last posted here. Not much to write about since 2020. Wife has been daily driving it, and sometime in 2024 I replaced the spark plugs, throttle body, and intake manifold gaskets. Wife's brakes needed to be done badly! Decided to pull the trigger on an...

    Totally a real build thread

Absolutely nothing. I'm just being a jerk and teasing you. I've thought about that aux heat exchanger a couple of times. I couldn't justify losing all that room, given all the other crap I already have. I am excited to see another local do a build. What CEL are you getting??

Its about damn time! Toss that aux heat exchanger you have, and seal up/vent that front end.

    Fuel injector comparability

Ive been fucking with these cars since 2012, helped gen 1 and gen 2 bro's with their cars over the years, blah blah. In all that time Ive never heard of a difference in injectors. The injectors themselves are the same in gen 1 and gen 2 motors. Same for the fuel rail, relief valve, and...
