I bought a speed 6 about 2 years go with the same symptom u are describing - in my case it turned out to be a bad fuel pump resistor - I bypassed it and no more burning coil packs or blowing ignition fuses.
you should be able to block it off, i had the same thing happen to me. headed down to the local autopars store and i was able to find a cap to block it off.
they don't make upgraded PRV's. only can be replaced with a Stock oem and yes is the brass valve at the end of the fuel rail. make sure u put u don't forget to put the washer back on when u install the new one.
their is a whit connector bolted to the body of the car behind the driver head light in front of the main fuse box. Unbolt it, remove the plastic connector cover and clean all the little metal spades on it. that's ur ground for ur head lights and blinkers.
here is a pic of it
I was referring to the comment about the engine having to come out, to do the job. Same way mazda told me the only way to do the water pump on my cx-9 was to drop the motor. Is ok I'll passed.. did it at home in a few hours also.
Wow that nuts, for a VVT job. I do them all the time, my rate is 500. I do them in about 3 hours if i don't run into any issues. You can always trailer it to jersey, still be cheaper than any dealer or local shop.
yeah that ground is notorious for getting corrosion and the blinkers and somwetimes the headlights will act stupid. Just make sure you clean all the points of contact. not just where it bolts to the car but the little metal spades too.
