Just an update. Almost have the wagon situated. Blew up 6.0 powerstroke, full-time college and a full time job have been keeping my free time down. Looking at building the engine while I have the 6.0 apart too. Sell the wagon and start buying parts. I’ll post up a engine parts list when I start...
Just an update on narrowing down ecu choices. Haltech 550 or 950 was the original thought. I found out that both of those ecu’s don’t support DBW. I very well could delete the DBW and go with a cable setup, but I do enjoy the variability and safety that DBW provides. The two ecu’s I’ve currently...
I user by the name of Troubled81 has a thread similar to this but has gone silent. I’m not going the same path so I figure I’d post what I’m trying to achieve and where I’m currently at.
I’ve owned quite a few speeds but currently just own two speed 6’s. A 06 and 07. I picked up the 06 for 500...
Instead of bringing an old thread
No name brand Ebay and Amazon parts
Back from the dead, I’m posting a new one.
In that post a user provides a link to a focus/mazda cast manifold which is dead. I only found one more manifold for a focus/mazda 3 but it doesn’t look like it’s the right one. I...
Just to update the thread. Problem is still unresolved. I drove my MS6 to college and got very proficient at tuning on these cars. MS6 is an absolute blast. I decided to bring the ms3 up here and start tuning. I ported over my e10 16psi tune from my MS6 to the ms3 and it’s still knocking. I’ve...
That’s what i was betting on too. I was just hoping it was something I messed with in the tune. I haven’t messed with the cold idle.
The thermostats are a fun job on these cars.
I’ve recently got ahold of access-tuner and have been tinkering around with a tune for quite some time. I’ve noticed that it takes my MS6 about 25 minutes to get to operating temp. I was wondering if I screwed anything up in the tune. Does the “bat vs ect ignition” tables affect warm up? I’ve...
Just an FYI for y’all. Be careful not to do the window reset to often. I’ve had to do it because every time I flash a tune it messes with the windows. I currently now I have 2 broken window motors. (One right after the other).
I live in the country and haven’t had to take the keys out of anything but I’ll start trying to do that. I pulled the batter cable and reset everything. I did the earlier mentioned window reset. Now all the windows work and even the auto window switches work. Which they haven’t since I bought...
I just purchased and went through the entire Cobb tuning course. I learned that the ecu logic doesn’t learn octane. it’s a strictly “reactive” based knock control system. I also learned that going into high det mode is extremely rare for these cars. I will be setting more parameters and more...
