It was weird actually. I had to smoke test from different location on the intake side to actually find the leak. The BOV leak was found by a mechanic, before i started doing work on my car myself. When I did my research on the EGR, it was not a normal occurance. I wasn’t able to fix it by...
If you're talking about the smoke leak at the EGR, it is not normal. I replaced my EGR with a used one, which worked for a few weeks before developing a leak in the same spot. I decided to just buy a block off kit at that point which fixed the problem indefinitely.
The EGR fix was a minor...
I just did a smoke test on my EGR to figure out whether the gasket would need to be replaced, or whether the EGR needs to be cleaned/replaced. I did some research on the EGR to see where it was actually leaking, and I came across a post that said the MAF sensor needed replacement as it was...
I can hear the noise just by having the hood open. It could just be normal noise but it’s only on 1 cylinder(or atleast very loud at 1 cylinder). If it sounds normal, i’m probably just overthinking it
Sorry I thought I included the coil packs but I didn’t. The spark plug that was burnt was a new gapped one and it was making that sound. I think the burnt plug is fine to put in after some research. Atleast now, the car doesn’t misfire which is good but their is definitely some air leaks I need...
Yeah, I’m using OEM coil packs I believe, but the sound follows the cylinder, not the spark plugs or coil packs. But that’s all i’ve tried so far, I’ve seen online that injectors may be the problem but I wanted a second opinion before i make a decision. I didn’t gap it because I wasn’t sure if...
I changed the sparkplugs today, I kinda messed up? Basically I put in the new sparkplugs and the car started running, but I noticed cylinder 1 spark plug had spark plug noises coming from it(sounded like electricity). Tried diagnosing it and found that the noise was only made at cylinder 1 even...
Hmmm okay good to know. It is my DD so maybe ill look on ebay for some OEM ones. The mechanic said that the EGR will HAVE to be replaced, so im assuming its the EGR and not the gasket .
So apparently, the previous owner says that the spark plugs are gapped at 0.054. Apparrently thats what the OE-reccomended gaps are for this spark plug. I will get those regapped tmrw. For the EGR. Whats the easiest thing to do to fix that leak? Replace it, delete it/block it off?
