Low compression on cylinder 3 65,000 miles

So I’m curious what kind of damage could occur from driving the car (hard?) with one cylinder at 145?

How long before H&R lowering springs sag?

I believe you :) Just saying those springs weren’t supposed to lower the car that much (it’s around 4” higher with OEM). I just assumed they sagged.

How long before H&R lowering springs sag?

I wouldn’t know how long they were on the car. Could have been short or long. I got it at the end of 2019. They don’t look cut to me. The photos show both the top and bottom edge and the paint is seamless. In any case, I ended up getting some low mileage OEM struts and coils and I really like...

    Clutch bleed simple

Yes that’s the same one I got. Well, actually this is the one I got (seems like same model): https://a.co/d/b4GZAJz I’m hoping I can use it for brake bleeding at some point. Seems like it should work perfectly.

    Clutch bleed simple

I’m not meaning to contradict you, but when I was replacing the transmission in my daughter’s Mini (putting a Cooper S transmission into a standard Cooper) I had to bleed the clutch. I got a power bleeder because everyone said you needed one for the Mini. I just couldn’t get it to bleed...

Low boost on CX-7 turbo in Mazdaspeed3

For what it’s worth…I’ve mentioned this before elsewhere but in case marshmello is interested. I’ve been running this $300 turbo for around 15 months. It appears to be a stock turbo housing (has the 881 number on it) with a new CHRA. My plan was to use it temporarily while I rebuilt my stock...

    Resurfacing dual-mass flywheel

Interesting idea to use set screws. I’m still using my dual mass, haven’t changed it yet. It’s not making any more noise and has been totally fine. Now I’m not regretting changing it out :) The new one has just been sitting around waiting to go in. I will do it eventually.

    Stock downpipe cat removal

I do have a Corksport intake now as where I had another brand (name escapes me…) when I used the OEM turbo which was longer and extended into the space in front of the wheel well. The wooshing sound was plenty audible with that but there was no turbo whistle.

    Stock downpipe cat removal

Interesting about the ‘turbo whistle’. Is that enhanced by a catless downpipe? When I rebuilt my engine I used a $300 K04 remanufacture (my thought was to use it until I could rebuilt the OEM turbo which was spitting oil, but it’s been totally fine for the last year). Ever since then I hear a...

    Speed 6 CAI best options?

The MS6 ECU is inside the car under either the dash in an awkward location or under the floor, depending on right or left hand drive. Unless I’m missing something here…

    Need help with egr bolt

I don’t know the size from memory, but you can get sockets which remove stripped bolt heads and they do a decent job. I have the harbor freight set. A couple of times I’ve even filed the edges of the stripped bolt head back to semi-straight and used a slightly smaller socket. Once it’s out you...

    What happened to Impossible?

I’ve seen two 1st gen MS3’s within a few miles of where I live. I may have seen a couple driving around in various places over the last couple of years. I still haven’t seen any other MS6’s though.

Having a P0300 issue after fixing a few problems

Your log looks like 2 minutes of idling :) If you could post a log with the accelerator to the floor (maybe 10-20 seconds maximum for the log), I’m sure someone more knowledgeable than me could comment.

Having a P0300 issue after fixing a few problems

Was the car having the ‘choking’ feeling when you got it or did it appear along with the codes? Did replacing the pressure sensor help, or did it start after replacing the sensor? It may be worthwhile to do a compression test.

    KEY light

The immobiliser light came on my MS6 a couple weeks ago. It didn’t affect starting. It was dim at first but eventually became full brightness. It just stayed on. Made me a little nervous but the car drove ok. The light went back to normal after being parked a few hours later. I had read that...

    FMIC and Coolant Temps

I’ve emptied and refilled the radiator two different times on my MS6 and didn’t have any issues getting the air out. The second time I even did it quite lazily. I’ve read about others having issues and I wonder what the difference is.

Hesitation while flooring the pedal to the metal

When you took out the air filter did you close back up the air box or did you leave it open?

Hesitation while flooring the pedal to the metal

Are you 100% certain removing the air filter makes it better? If you removed it just one time and if it was a coincidence then it could be confusing the issue.

New to Speed 6 platform, General Questions, Not Hitting Boost properly

Congratulations on acquiring the MS6! It’s possible your oil ‘burning’ issue is leaking seals from the turbo. Especially considering your intake manifold is wet. If you’re wanting to get a new turbo on the cheap I’ll mention this one. I got this with the intention of temporarily using it while...
