    "Silver Demon v2" build

Ask Geoff. I'm not sure when it was bored to 88.0 from 87.5, whether Scott did it or Geoff did it when he first put these Wisecos in. Most recently when he spun a bearing, they only took off a small amount to clean up the walls, then honed. The pistons were reused. The builders claim PTW...

    "Silver Demon v2" build

Hey man! We actually met at the CP-E dyno day a couple years ago. I had my red Gen2 at the time with a couple bolt-on's and a K04. I have a lot of respect for what you've done for the platform as a true trailblazer, as well as your incredible fabrication skills! I agree that the car was...

I just realized it's because I used Chrome. Apparently copying and pasting within Chrome will do this. Sent from my A0001 using Tapatalk

    "Silver Demon v2" build

Nah I copied and pasted the images from my Google account into MSO but it seems somehow it retained the actual URL instead of copying the images to MSO's hosting. I guess I'll have to work on hosting them on my imgur...gah. Sent from my A0001 using Tapatalk

    "Silver Demon v2" build

To replace the 2012 Mazdaspeed3 that I totaled, I bought this 2007 Mazdaspeed3 which was original owned by Scott aka SilverDemon on MSF, then owned by @HawkeyeGeoff: The car as received was stock, other than the following: -Built motor with Wiseco OTS 88 mm pistons, Pauter rods, Clevite rod...

    UOA's - Used Oil Reports - Let's See 'Em

Engine oil reports from my 2012 Speed3, stock engine: (note: the Supertech seemed to change formulation slightly and around the same time the "Dexos" certification labeling appeared. I have labeled the one sample accordingly) Transmission oil reports from my 2012 Speed3: Engine oil...

How to genwon thermostat w/o removing PS pump or compressor.

If I had used flexible hose clamp pliers when doing mine, it would have taken 1 hour instead of 3 hours. Glad I changed mine out. I would be cruising around at 217-221 before, occasionally dipping to high 190's. Even on the highway, it would just sit at like 217-219 going 70 MPH. Now I rarely...

Post S3 install thread because KiwiFail

That cylinder head looks pretty chewed up. You sure it's going to seal against the new gasket? Also, that serpentine belt is for a pu...is that what you are wanting? The juan uses a slightly longer belt because the PS pulley is larger than the dead pulley on the pu.

How Honda Completely Eliminated Torquesteer on the New Civic Type-R (With No Nannies)

Honda is not doing anything new here as far as the geometry goes. Pretty simple. Revoknuckle conversion. Already discussed here: http://www.mazdaspeedforums.org/forum/f12/revoknuckle-conversion-59667/ Hint: It's gonna be expensive and involve tons of custom fab work. At a minimum: -Euro RS...

How Honda Completely Eliminated Torquesteer on the New Civic Type-R (With No Nannies)

To be fair, if you do that in pretty much any bone stock car these days, even the Fiesta ST, which has mcphail front suspension and an open differential, it will go straight. A lot of torque steer can be eliminated just through tuning and, unsurprisingly, removing torque in the right places.

How Honda Completely Eliminated Torquesteer on the New Civic Type-R (With No Nannies)

Probably won't be much of a comparison if the new WRX and Golf R are any indication of what modern engines are capable of. Sent from my A0001 using Tapatalk

How Honda Completely Eliminated Torquesteer on the New Civic Type-R (With No Nannies)

Gen1's weigh about 3140 which is about the same as the Type R. A fully bolted and tuned speed would easily take one from a roll unless they underrated the engine. With a BNR S3 I am expecting I will be able to hurt some feelings once these show up on the street. Of course I would still rather...

How Honda Completely Eliminated Torquesteer on the New Civic Type-R (With No Nannies)

That's basically the same thing they did with Revoknuckle in the Euro RS: http://www.caranddriver.com/features/ford-revoknuckle-and-gm-hiper-strut-explained-tech-dept The type R is a huge step forward for Honda, and "hot hatch" cars as a whole. I'm looking forward to seeing where this platform...

    Super-Cheater K04

Hey man, Few things: 1) The tables I was referring to are here, closed loop load limit. Need to make sure these tables are set above logged calculated load values, which they are, so you're in the clear: 2) You should set the "Open Loop WOT AFR Target Knock Present Extended" table the same...

    Super-Cheater K04

Sorry, in the middle of a teardown on my own car...been busy. Should be able to take a look tonight. The table I was referring to is not listed under "load tables". It is called "Max Load Limit" A/B/C and is under "Closed Loop" tables in ATR. Default value is 2.5...you'll want to raise to 3.0 or...
