[SOLVED] No power, enters limp mode on acceleration

I guess a built engine can get very costly but if it did come to that I suggest the 700 extra and buy manley h-beam rods and some forged pistons. You can run literally everything else stock and it makes sure your engine is safer in higher power. Just my suggestion if you ever would go for more...

[SOLVED] No power, enters limp mode on acceleration

So I can only judge from my current setup, but my car literally doesn't get more than 50ml per oil change and I am running 2618 pistons lol Seems pretty excessive to me but that is very cold!

[SOLVED] No power, enters limp mode on acceleration

I would say cap off the intake vc port and see if the lean condition is still there. I bet your bad compression is the culprit and it just finally got bad enough to actually cause issues. My engine did the same thing but it boosted still it just was super slow and started leaving a cloud of...

    StreetSpeed’s DD 500+ MS6 Build

I know I haven't posted in a while but adulting lol Anyway, I got some time yesterday evening to wire up the Split Second Controller. I opted to strip back the wires and solder the SSC wires onto everything. Guess I just get nervous cutting important wires lol Hooking up the fuel lines hopefully...

[SOLVED] No power, enters limp mode on acceleration

Hope it is something simple man. Let us know what it is though so if someone else has this issue they will know what to do!

[SOLVED] No power, enters limp mode on acceleration

That's true he should be getting a code for anything that is a sensor or electronic failure. Seems to me to be something mechanical more than electronic.

[SOLVED] No power, enters limp mode on acceleration

I think you need to buy a new primary o2 sensor. They can screw everything up afr related. If you haven't ever replaced it then it is a good idea to anyways just so you know your readings are accurate from it...

[SOLVED] No power, enters limp mode on acceleration

So it is a c-clip that holds the actuator arm onto the flapper inside the exhaust side of the turbo housing. This ad for a ko4 lets you see it in a pic. Look at the wastegate actuator and then at the end of the rod is a little clip. If that comes undone it will not allow your wastegate to stay...

[SOLVED] No power, enters limp mode on acceleration

You can't see the c-clip on the actuator arm in that pic. I'm assuming it is on but you won't know unless you put your hand down in there and feel to be sure. Nonetheless that is a good possibility that you'll be faced with that. Rebuilding one that isn't blown up wouldn't be too expensive if...

[SOLVED] No power, enters limp mode on acceleration

You did double check that the little c-clip is on the turbo's actuator arm? Hopefully they will line you out and it isn't something too bad man!

[SOLVED] No power, enters limp mode on acceleration

I think your valve cover gasket is leaking a little bit as the threads on your spark plugs are wet. Mine used to look like that before I rebuilt my engine, so it could also possibly be from excessive blow-by idk. No problem with the help man I know what it is like to have an issue and just...

[SOLVED] No power, enters limp mode on acceleration

Not sure but probably somehow with unplugging it and using some small leads off the battery to touch the pins and see if you hear or feel it do anything. @L337TurboZ tell us the ways of diagnosis please lol I am terrible with that crap.

[SOLVED] No power, enters limp mode on acceleration

Well yes but I don't think you can do that without removing the IM to fool with it probably. Confirm the vtcs actuator is working or constantly open and let me know what happens then. 8psi for a ko4 isn't much at all as mine ran like 2-4psi just going up small hills lol
  14. StreetSpeed6

[SOLVED] No power, enters limp mode on acceleration

If the vtcs is stuck in the closed position your engine won't be able to flow nearly enough to run boost. I still think that it could be in the closed position. I would honestly just try deleting it but cut the rod to where you can keep the actuator. Everything would still look stock at that...

[SOLVED] No power, enters limp mode on acceleration

If you are seriously wanting to look into something else other than the obvious low compression issue then I would check exhaust gaskets. I did a turbo swap and thought everything was good and the cst4 had blown out my copper gasket 1/2" chunk lol I see. Well a lean condition under demand for...

[SOLVED] No power, enters limp mode on acceleration

I personally did this with my engine not knowing it had a bad ring. I'm not saying you should do it but I understand the $$$ side of it. So after hooking up the vtcs vacuum line the code went away but the problem persisted and has been test drove again? Can you take another log and post it? I...

[SOLVED] No power, enters limp mode on acceleration

So you're saying pull the manifold, remove the flappers and take the rod out but them keep the little actuator on the side of the manifold and keep it plugged in? Makes sense.

[SOLVED] No power, enters limp mode on acceleration

Well sorry that wasn't the problem but you will be glad you got the dp eventually for sure. It is the best bang for your buck on a speed pretty much. It will probably gain you 20hp at the least. Vtcs is deleted in my car and it has had ZERO negative effect on my car. I cold start my car in sub...

[SOLVED] No power, enters limp mode on acceleration

Honestly man I have heard of guys boosting it to blow that crap out lol Would you think it will make more than 6psi? If you put enough pressure on it you could very well blow that stuff out that is stopping it up lol
