Corksport HPFP install without corksport tools

Should be no problem hitting it to hard, the key is repetitive light strikes and you should know when it seats. Corksport's instructions should also lay it out clearly.

Corksport HPFP install without corksport tools

You want to be really careful if you put it in a vice not to scratch the internals - use a thick cloth around it, etc.

Corksport HPFP install without corksport tools

If you look here at this video you can see what all is involved - If you are even remotely mechanically inclined you can probably find a couple of washers and a PVC tube at a hardware store and replicate the process.

That sucks because I want free tires, but also good to know I can still run them. Hopefully they can fix their manufacturing processes in future batches, its a really great tire.

Had my second Trackcross event on Saturday, was definitely a blast. Morning layout was not great since it was reverse route on a course designed to go the opposite way, so making a coherent line was difficult and showed in my times. Afternoon was leagues better since the course made a lot of...

    Building for the road course...again

I wouldn't bother with a half-measure then on a used rotrex kit. When you go with your forged motor or see the timing is right get the 7670 and call it a day since that's what you actually want.

S3 arrived, looks to be in pretty great shape! Surprised at how small the frame is, I guess it really is comparable in size to a K04. On the topic of exhaust manifolds, is it worth putting on a different exhaust manifold that isn't a super expensive Corksport one? I'm not excited to put on an...

    Raider's Neverending love/hate with Christine

I have a timing chain cover leak, could you re-link that product? I can't see the link on my end.

Definitely cheaper to leave a new block off the build list.

Haven't done that yet, but its not a bad idea - I don't have plans yet for sustained track work, mostly just track-crosses at this point in time, and its a pretty penny for an oil cooler with thermostat so its pretty far down my list at the moment. I have an oil temp or oil pressure gauge in...

Had a bit of an irrational moment last night and pulled the trigger on a used BNR S3 V4 - looks to be in great shape, only a few thousand miles on it according to the owner. Saved about $250 over retail. Plan is to hold on to it and see how things go, probably pick up additional supporting...

    Engine Overheating/ Burning Oil

Is the thermostat OEM? If not, replace it with true Mazda OEM. You likely have air in your system, did you burp it or allow it to bleed off?

Car has a higher-than-normal / hanging idle when fully warmed, ~1300 - 1000 as opposed to the targeted 850. LTFT showing as -9.52 at idle which leads me to believe I have a vacuum leak somewhere. Boost leak test on Sunday to find out if its an easy thing to solve for. Any chance it could be...

    SpeedRevival

Looks like a great list - have you compression tested your motor? (I see the Overspeed block on there, not sure if you're doing that immediately or have plans to run the OEM block until then on the S3). Also highly recommend injector cleaning per Raider's comment. Those things get NASTY real fast.

Some minor maintenance items completed: Belt Tensioner - Dayco (very cool thanks JohnnyTightLips) Belt - Dayco Idler Pulley (Those OEM Japan bearings were minty and spin like crazy compared to the "new" replacement Chinese Dayco bearing. Keeping in case the replacement gives up the ghost...

Had my first Trackcross at Summit Point in West Virginia, what an awesome time. Myself and the group I go with all agree track driving is much more fun than Autocross, though the car control experience has definitely helped me to begin confidently. I was able to pull off a class win (<400hp...
