I have not installed an EFR7163 on a mazdaspeed, but I have installed a 6758 and we did it before there was even a primary EGR Delete available for the speed. Not sure if that helps since they are not quite the same turbo, but I think you should be able to make it work.

Definitely not a bad idea to use it as a buffer, but you will need a significant amount to help with IDC's. At that point, you are relying on it. Man, that price isn't bad at all for what you get! As to mods, I believe HP-tuners will be supporting it. With as much power as I've seen the RS make with just a E30 tune, I would imagine that it would totally be worth it on the otherwise stock Raptor to just do a little tuning.

Power is how quickly work is being done, not necessarily how fast you are accelerating. Acceleration is a result of torque acting through the transmission.
