    Cas' 800+ or Bust Build

Sucks to hear about all the issues. I understand how that feels. Just tore into mine this weekend to discover that my built motor only had 2 friction washers on the crank and no washer behind the VVT.. I'm amazed it took 7k miles before it slipped. Hopefully you get everything sorted and...

    Cas' 800+ or Bust Build

Any updates? Very interested to know how that evo x fuel tophat is working out. What did you end up doing to plug the pressure sensor hole?

    Oil pump chain guide bolts?

Thanks, I ordered them earlier today.

    Oil pump chain guide bolts?

In the process of fixing my slipped timing, I noticed the oil pump chain guide was not reinstalled when my motor was built. Finding the guide itself online gas been no problem, but does anyone know the part numbers for the bolts that mount it? Also discovered during the teardown that I only...

WOT Box + AEM AFR Failsafe Compatibility Issue

I'd double the delay. IMO the wideband failsafe isn't really necessary during FFS. All you need is a standard relay to disable the aux fueling anytime you press the clutch pedal.

    07 speed 3 bog issue

Does it follow the commanded pressure when running? The high pressure side has no regulator to bleed the pressure off, either the PRV opens(around 2k psi) or the injectors use the fuel.

Now you can get started making more power.. Did you kepp the LS coils?

If it wasn't out enough to cause the Cam/Crank sensor correlation MIL, it probably isn't the issue. I have seen loads above 3.0 on my ported oem injectors and fuel pump with the BAP on 93 octane. That corresponds to about 4.45V on my blow through 3.5" maf housing and >125% IDC. My AFR is...

    Bad water leak?

There should be a drain line for the ac condenser passing through the firewall. Make sure its not disconnected, or clogged.

Before you make any other changes I would just unplug the split second box and make a few pulls.

    davychronic's build

I know the old split second controller had to have a pulldown resistor resistor installed along with the trigger circuit to function properly. I'd bet the new on has a similar issue as well. The cam sensor is used for sequential fuel injection, but it's also used to time the coil firing...

So did it run well on the ls2 coils when the aux fuel controller was not installed? How exactly is your new split second controller wired in? Which wires at what OEM sensors are you using?

    davychronic's build

That sucks. I still say its got something to do with the new split second controller..

You're right, I just looked again and it is across the 12v lead. I hope these coils work out well. I had to buy the overpriced hks ignition amp to deal with my spark issues after I built my motor. If these work out for you, I'll probably end up with them at some point once my motor is back...

    davychronic's build

There is a noise suppression cap on the coil grounds, but nothing on the power supply side in our oem wiring. Also, the ecm sensor ground is the brown wire in pin A of the map sensor and the fuel pressure sensor if you need a cleaner ground for the coil logic circuit under load. I'm sure it...

    davychronic's build

It's crazy all the trouble people went through trying to find stronger pnp coils for these motors, when the ls coils wire in this easy.. That oem power wire looks really small, you might get even better performance with a capacitor on that lead.

    davychronic's build

It's really surprising how easy they wired in, hope they work out under heavy load.

    davychronic's build

I like all the options on the new hardware, but it seems like they're asking you to beta test this new hardware--and risk your engine in the process. IMO, It would be much easier/safer to have split second send you the old hardware with the trigger circuit that has worked perfectly on every...
