So this has been my burden for the past few days, weeks etc.. long story short, i had to swap injectors, seals etc.. I put on anti-size on the injector bolts so it would be able to be taken off.. the oem were pretty rusty T40 bolts.. (need to get new bolt kit.. or figure something out) one...

Eh.. 140 on a turbo 4 cylinder.. Who knows what the history was.. I would move on if it's a daily . Or you have money for a rebuild

The hardest part for me was the nut thing on the egr pipe.. i never got it off, i actually removed the manifold with it connected.. also, finding the bolts on the hpfp rail.. those things are hidden.. once you know everything, and where it is, it makes it much easier

quick side note.. how long does it take you to get the manifold off? when i did it.. i didn't use any hand tools, and im pretty green.. it took like the 2 (half days).. with a few bolts left over lol.. I bet the whole job can be done in under 3 hours.. how long did it take you?

Is it possible to put a safer tune on it briefly, and do a few pulls just to see if knock happens? Are you putting any e85 in there? Nothing banging around the engine bay? Good luck man.. I'm dealing with something similar

Welcome! First thing.. I would post a few engine pics so we can see how stock it is.. If your rebuilding, you should do the rods as they are a weak point. Pending on power goals.. If you do get a new engine or if you want to get it up and running, make sure you get a good tune on it.. e tunes...

@Vansquish. Killer job. So how long did it take, start to finish? How hard is this compared to turbo replacement or injector replacements? Thanks again

Definitely doesn't sound normal.. Did they say or mention anything? Did they test drive it?

Just a heads up.... That retaining nut *can be very hard to remove.. it's a 22 in think.. Mine would not come off.. I would just leave it on. Do valve cleaning and don't sweat it too much

Did you go big turbo? If so, any regrets? Doe a daily, if you could choose a path..

@Enki thank you! I get what your saying..thankfully there are a bunch of easy bolt on options now with turbos. I'm in Florida and it's so hot, I feel like it car doesn't want to go lol.. Once I finish tuning, I'll go from there. Thanks again
