    Building for the road course...again

Race weekend was this past weekend. Had a great time camping at the track. Our setup was solid. Overall results were disappointing but it happens. Day one was good other than the car going into limp mode in the finals costing me 3rd place by 2 tenths. What a bummer. 300whp wrx first...

we couldnt get the compressor to kick on with the scan tool. "no communication to module". Im guessing the few fuses were pulled or something. We didnt really look into it too hard as the cost for those oem air struts was just way too much. If the compressor doesnt work then thats even more. It...

Air struts successfully installed. It’s very cool how they work. We tested it as well as we could. I don’t think it’ll solve the squat entirely but it should be night and day over how it was. Maybe some 35% stiffer springs in the future but otherwise good to go. Things been pretty good on fuel...

I also found there are 35% stiffer rear springs and 70% stiffer rear springs. That would be a good solution too but probably ride terribly when not towing. Apparently the hoe’s with the auto leveling got softer rear springs. Makes sense

It’s got springs. That’s why it’s doing OK other than when it’s heavily loaded up. I guess the air struts are for the out leveling only. Front is a strut and spring combo. Gonna rock the Monroe setup for now. Itll get installed next week. That should at least help with towing to level the shit...

Also. Mystery to the rear sag has been solved. Had the truck at my cousins shop today to do round 2 of maintenance. All drive line fluids done minus transmission. That one is newer. Front diff fluid looked great. Transfer case fluid looked great. Rear diff fluid was OK but definitely a little...

ah shit. so sounds like loading the civic backwards would be correct. Backing it off is easy, just let the clutch out slow and gravity does the rest. Loading it up backwards though...thats gonna be interesting. I guess ill give it a shot for my next event. Like i mentioned the uhaul...

So overall drive seemed pretty stable. Starting and stopping was fine. If I took too much speed through some of the sweeping turns it felt a little sketchy but I’m guessing that’s normal? 10-15kph above posted speed limits seemed to be no problem. I am cautious of having a light front end due...

Next event is a weekend event July 19-20. I’ll be towing again. I’m hoping to have bags installed before then but I always wanna try loading the car and rolling it back as far as I can. Just to see if that helps with anything. I’m curious. I definitely don’t want to back the car onto the...

    Building for the road course...again

So I took a look through the Uhaul documentation. They mention the car needs to be loaded front wheels first toward the tow vehicle. They mention trailer sway and keeping the weight further forward helps to reduce the risk of sway. The weight at the hitch(tongue weight?) can’t be more than...

Thing with the uhaul is it has like a spot where it wants the tires. Theres a notch you gotta go over then there’s a stop. Also the built in straps only go so far. I could’ve maybe had it 4-6” further back but that’s about it. Air lift has an air bag kit. 170cad off Amazon. 2 air bags with...

Well this was a game changer for my 125mile trip to the track Tows this shit effortlessly. I do need some air bags for the rear though? I think there are some basic setups that should help

137grams is pretty heavy. Wiseco decided more material is more better than more engineering. Competitors are able to do the job with a 85-95gram pin. Specs on the heavy pins they sent me. The shit ones that break are 71grams. Material is 5115 Steel. 0.8661 in. Outer Diameter, 2.000 in...

They sent me the same pistons again with the heavier wrist pins. I have 3 good rods. Just need a single rod and I have another short block. Gonna have the machine shop just check over my 3 rods and replace that small end bushing. I have a block and crank just chilling so that’ll go for...

They sent me an invoice which was obviously paid for by them. The wrist pin upgrade is $171. Yes they’re heavy as fuck but I’d still have my engine. Wild.

The pins that came with the kit and I was told “it’s perfect for what you’re doing” vs the pins they sent me on the side this time Also I guess I’m a truck people now. Gonna tow the car to the track on Tuesday

In other news I just got a random email from UPS. Wiseco has sent me something. No one replied to my last email so I’m not sure what to expect. If it’s pistons there better be some better wrist pins in there
