They sent me the same pistons again with the heavier wrist pins.


I have 3 good rods. Just need a single rod and I have another short block. Gonna have the machine shop just check over my 3 rods and replace that small end bushing.


I have a block and crank just chilling so that’ll go for machining and I’m hoping to have a short block assembled by September.


The plan is to build something budget and just use my current head package. I love the cams and technically they need more compression so this should be nice

Wiseco Wrist Pin, 0.8661 in. Outer Diameter, 2.3600 in. Length, 137 grams

137grams is pretty heavy.

Wiseco decided more material is more better than more engineering.

Competitors are able to do the job with a 85-95gram pin.

Specs on the heavy pins they sent me. The shit ones that break are 71grams. Material is 5115 Steel.

Well this was a game changer for my 125mile trip to the track
Tows this shit effortlessly. I do need some air bags for the rear though? I think there are some basic setups that should help

Thing with the uhaul is it has like a spot where it wants the tires. Theres a notch you gotta go over then there’s a stop. Also the built in straps only go so far. I could’ve maybe had it 4-6” further back but that’s about it.


Air lift has an air bag kit. 170cad off Amazon. 2 air bags with some hose and a schrader valve. Run the valve to the hitch area and good to go

No, I think you're on to something here. Should be able to find out the weight split and draw a line on the car, then pshop it to the ideal position on the trailer, either back or forward.

Should be close to 60/40 so there is a chance backwards works. Shorter rear overhang might be the killer

Though if it does push it too far back you could load the trunk with tools and spares to bring the weight center closer to the truck

I just did some quick mspaint bullshit and if he rolls the car back to where the back wheels are at the rear edge of the trailer, that should just about center the weight.

Also, if my autism is right, the 50/50 point on the car is probably 4" forward of the middle of the door, measured at the door guard line or whatever that color change on the door is towards the bottom (it goes across the fenders too; accent maybe?).

So I took a look through the Uhaul documentation. They mention the car needs to be loaded front wheels first toward the tow vehicle.

They mention trailer sway and keeping the weight further forward helps to reduce the risk of sway.

The weight at the hitch(tongue weight?) can’t be more than 700lbs I’m thinking. Engine and transmission together are maybe 400-500lbs. Maybe.


I’m thinking it’s just sag from soft springs? I could do stiffer springs but then ride quality when not towing is gonna suffer. Airbags seem like a good option ?

The Uhaul trailer isn't at fault, it's just saggy springs. Happens to everyone in old age.

I'm looking to grab some airbags myself at some point, but my squat isn't as bad as yours and I have a pretty heavy metal 20' trailer. Bags should do it fine if it rides normally without a load.

Stock the car weighs 2800 lbs and has a 60/40 weigh balance. 1680 lbs of car are in front of the trailer wheels plus the weight of the trailer

A trailer should be loaded pretty balanced with just enough extra weight shifted forward to approach the tongue capacity of the tow vehicle. For something with a short wheelbase on a long trailer you might need to be unorthodox in your loading
