Did you ever buy some ethanol or menthol ? When I had KR and some of your same symptoms. No e85 anywhere, I bought some methanol from a local speed shop. No cheap @ 60$ but after running 30% and still KR. Needed to rebuild engine. One cylinder had bad ring sealing. So Rods, pistons, overbore...
Hello... personally I've pulled 3 times entire engine, trans, diff, turbo, intake manifold...if just and only a clutch pull, then this thread will help you decide which way to go. Look at the other threads to show the other method.
Best to create a new specific question on your concerns on a engine...
Sorry for your predicament. When my speed 3 had one cylinder go bad, was going to rebuild it completely. So definitely glad you have a realistic expectation of costs ... If you don't want to keep it and wait until times are better $$, space, time. I think a honest sales to someone else might be...
I felt the same way. Your build progress is always something I look forward to because you are attempting something I can only dream about.
A loss of a loved one is a huge loss and I feel your pain. I hope your future is about all the great times your dog offered with nothing but joy.
My speed 6 first time I rebuilt it, and used a higher clamping pressure plate and clutch. I inspected the pedal mount for cracks (happens on these)
I had removed slave and upon reinstall followed typical one person process: vacuum setup on slave cylinder bleeder used over a quart of brake fluid...
OEM flywheel surface can be resurfaced too. Had it done, son wanted stock clutch feel so used a OEM takeoff that had 30k miles. I asked machinist he explained it's not that hard, labor costs here was $115.
I bought Manleys for my first Speed. Second one had these. A good thing about this manufacturer it sells rods individually. So if you buy a slight rod knock Mz6 as second vehicle. Upon opening it up for the simple rod knock repair, and it had destroyed big rod end and crank. Buying a single one...
I so sorry to see. If it helps on the road to better life choices recovering from back problems now or ahead.... excellent choice for life and God I pray...less pain.
Always in my thoughts.
Here's the system I have. Yes it's loud. I try to just up shift and keep rpm down while situation requires "quieter" noise levels. If you run Corksport lowering springs you will find it's hard to add anymore silencer mods. The ground to pipe is just enough for most situations for ground...
My speed 6 when I bought it, seller said just a short time rod knock. I heard it as I pulled it on to my trailer at sale. Fast forward to valve cover off and pan next.... Not a good sign on #1 rod. Big end was destroyed, bearing turned into glitter and debris, rod big end destroyed. Was a...
While mine was being tuned by damond also with VersaTune. Found that at the upper end of fueling flows for IDC max that my old Hpfp internals would fail to have maximum sustained pressure. So I needed to halt tuning. I replaced HPFP internals and a full teardown cleaning of PRV. IDC % would...
Best to give a history and as much data as possible. Here's a good form to follow

Thinking about those damond speed 6 transfer case bearing caps. They go in and out of stock. Or rear diff mount. My speed 3 and 6 are just where I want them to be, so something that I would not immediately need. Desire best way to describe it. I could be selfless and use it for my son's speed 3...
