I want to start by apologizing if this is not the correct section for this post as I am new to the forums. Now for the main issue. I have a 2013 Mazdaspeed 3 that goes into limp mode for detecting multiple cylinder misfires (P0300) even though the car is not misfiring. It is not just me who knows that, my mechanic who has proven to be very reliable guarantees that there are no actual misfires happening. The question at this point is why the car is detecting misfires and going into limp mode, rendering the car practically undrivable at times. Key words there are "at times", as the issue can go away for a month and then come back to haunt me multiple times a day. Keep in mind, the car does this at high speeds, slow speeds, in different gears as well as while coasting in neutral. Now onto what I've done to fix it. I have replaced the MAF sensor and the spark plugs. I understand that I haven't done much to fix it, but that is because I have been searching online constantly in order to try and find any direction of where to start and have found practically nothing except maybe fuel injectors or the fuel pump. My mechanic also said that this is probably an issue you will have to throw money at until its fixed as they could not figure out what was happening even after having the car for 5 days and bringing in a specialist in checking cars computers. I really don't want to have to get rid of the car, and if anyone has any idea what direction I should go I would love the help, and if anyone needs a bigger explanation about what limp mode is, it's simply the car not turning off, but no longer allowing me to drive and forcing me to pull over, and restart the car.
Everything is stock except a universal muffler was put on to the back and the stock muffler cut off. No tunes or anything after market other than that.
