    Exhaust cam shaft

So things are not going my way... I got everything to do the timing chain and finally got around to starting it this week, have to pull the engine to get the valve cover and timing tool in. So got as far as fitting the tool and started to try and take the crankshaft pulley off, I got a Ryobi...

St intake manifold on an mzr powered miata

I could use the existing adapter, I haven't actually seen it yet, only mention of it, my plan was to make one myself as I have the tools to 3d print one out of carbon fiber composit plastic. And yeh, if it wasn't in the car and was taking the head off, ensuring there was no left over material...

St intake manifold on an mzr powered miata

Well plans are changing, I have got hold of a Mustang ecoboost 2.3 intake, it has the exact same bolt pattern as the Mazda 2.3 and thus the st intake too, however the throttle body is again another 90 degrees around from the st one, making this a perfect fit for the mx5 engine bay, the tb is...

    Timing locking tool

I did earlier today, but shipping and import to the UK made it more than corksport. Totally agree not to go for anything that doesn't mention the 2.3, but it's eBay, one of the listings I saw was clearly not a massivespeed tool but yet they took the description from it, for somethings it...

    Timing locking tool

I'm starting to get everything I need to do a timing chain job, including hpfp upgrade. Lots of resources on how to do this around here, extremely useful!. However the cam and tdc locking tool/pin I'm looking around the internet to get, as per all my other questions this far I'm trying to save...

    Hpfp options

Got the part today, there's a warning on the box for a tsb for Audi/VW for the cam shaft, nothing about the Mazdaspeed platform, anything else to know about this, also I did read about potentially replacing the seals inside?

St intake manifold on an mzr powered miata

Sorry, I probably should of been more clear with the question, when I say much, my concern here is the emissions test here in the UK, there should be a visual inspection but there is no chance you could see it unless specifically looking for it anyway, its well hidden now, but there is a tail...

St intake manifold on an mzr powered miata

hmm interesting, I assumed it was the VICS, thanks for clearing that up! one last question (for now) if the ST doesnt have an EGR inlet, if I do an EGR delete, apart from a CEL does this effect the emissions much on this platform? I also read that on some platforms that the EGR helps with...

St intake manifold on an mzr powered miata

Sorry if this sounds like a dumb question, I might be getting a little confused, mainly from the acronyms and the different intakes from the different engines. does the mazdaspeeds have both vtcs and vics? from what I have read about the mx5 intake and again could be confused with this too...

St intake manifold on an mzr powered miata

As to your question about the vtcs, this was an initial concern with some of the mx5 mk3 posts on some forums where people had read that the ford vtcs flaps broke, I cant remember the engine they where refering to but they found the ones on the mx5 where metal and thus wouldnt have the same...

Going for autotech as they ship quicker, just want to make sure I got the correct one as it's the first result in Google https://autotech.com/i-30497841-autotech-high-volume-fuel-pump-upgrade-kit-early-2-0t-fsi-ea113-mazdaspeed-3-6.html @Awafrican @Easter Bunny

My parents immigrated over there 14 years ago, currently living in Florida and coming to visit on just over a week. With free delivery and no import either of them will be around £260

    Hpfp options

I have read and seen multiple posts about replacing the hpfp internals. With the opportunity to get this done coming up I am looking at my opinions. The 2 I keep seeing is corksport and autotech, they are both in the US and I'm sure they are quality parts, just wondering if there are any other...

St intake manifold on an mzr powered miata

@dinnerplate that would be great. So before I went into this project I had found some threads about different swaps, and what I overlooked (because the disi swap wasn't as easy as other swaps there wasn't that many to go from) similar to those threads, piston heads is mostly USA users with a...

St intake manifold on an mzr powered miata

Can anyone point me to someone who has done this mod? I have a fair few questions, I was in the end trying to avoid doing it getting to the right hand side bolts would probably be near impossible (with the egr pipe as well) however it looks like my timing chain now needs to be replaced (90k...

Congratulations! You bought your Mazdaspeed. Now what??

Any reason piston 3 esp likes to go? This is interesting as I done mine and piston 1,2 &4 where the same at 170, piston 3 was slightly lower at 160~165, while still within margin for error and is still good, the fact it's 3 and it's mentioned 3 likes to go...

P0403 error - egr valve position

I'm not 100% sure but I seem to remember all of this coming about because I had a stuck position error, which I presume was the 0401, else I would of just checked the wiring over first time, but then after cleaning the egr up it still had an error and thats where the rabbit hole started

P0403 error - egr valve position

So, after pulling the egr twice in 2 days, turns out this is an intermittent short, finally found which wire it was checked the wiring down half the wire and looks good, the other half is hard to check but the issue has gone for now, next step when it comes back to move different parts of the...
