eventually im gonna have the entire hood redone. but thats not of importance right this moment
may just sand it down and get some primer and body touch up paint on it to save the hood

Yeah ill need to do the same eventually and also address the front bumper.

[doublepost=1456872787][/doublepost]lets talk about that avatar though for a minute haha

i think thats whats turning me off of doing the upgrade now honestly. i mean freektune has the turbo+tune deal right now, which would be nice. i could get by without the 3bar for now so long as we didnt tune it past 22psi. at this point im still waiting to hear back from the shop though. fact is ill have to get it tuned while waiting for my plate to come in, because the CEL its throwing is from the aftermarket DP. so unless i do some sort of tricking, (de fouler, diode etc) the only way to get rid of that is tune it out. i thought that maybe since i have the FMIC sitting here doing nothing that i could order the bnrs3, and ebc. when it came in install the new turbo, ebc and fmic. then start tuning for pump gas. downt he road at some point get the 3bar and guardian and do touch up tune for e85.

So here's my advice:
Leave the turbo for now. When you do pick it up, get the bundle Edge has (BNR S3/ Bosch 3bar map/ Grimspeed EBCS for like $1200).
For now, fix your O2 sensor, Get new spark plugs (if you havent already), do a compression test (again if you havent already), then depending on your budget, either get the Freektune or install your FMIC/get the Freektune.

Again more comments:
1) A professional tune should be your absolute next step after maintenance. Especially as modded as the car already is.
2) I'm sure you know but if you don't already alot more is involved than just installing the FMIC. Tubeing will have to be custom bent, your crash bar will have to be cut, etc. so having a shop do that for you will probably be a significant cost so just figure that into your budget.
3) Whats more is after all that expense, you will greatly increase turbo lag and you may not be happy with the results. Again if it was me id just sell the fmic and put the money back into the car. I'm pretty sure I stated this somewhere in your thread already but you can accomplish the same or better BATs as a FMIC by doing TMIC+WMI, and have a more responsive turbo.

as someone that went to school for auto tech, i completely understand the value of placing maintanance first and performance second. And thats what im trying to do with this car. i know i need to replace the fluids, change plugs, upgrade a few odds and ends before really looking at adding more power, but i cant lie, its extremely difficult looking over the turbo upgrade and performance mods. (although i know ill get to them in the future) id like to think that i could buy the freektune turbo+tune kit and simply leave the trubo off, get the car retuned as is. and then once i get the EBCS and 3bar at some point down the road, install the bar, EBCS, FMIC and turbo. it would be extremely difficult to see the bnrs3 sitting in my house for months. I have read on several occasions that the fmic kills response, but i also heard that is only an issue for smaller, closer to stock turbos. Obviously i have no experience with it, but i figured the bnrs3 would spool a lil later (although im not sure how much later) but i dont think the fmic would affect its response that much. the bnr is a bit bigger than the k04. honestly though, when i think about it i could go either way with the intercooler issue. i drive 27 miles one way to work each day and they are 90% highway miles, so all my "fun driving" is at highway speeds. im not looking for an insanely responsive light to light car. still havent gotten a call from the shop though. once i do, ill be putting in a few orders for some parts. spark plugs, fresh oil and filter. possibly new suspension. and im debating on a rear diff mount. (i have absolutely 0 desire or intention to launch this car )
[doublepost=1456953196][/doublepost]both refunds came in and money from my sons mother.... fuck it i might buy everything lmao

ok so took a step back yesterday to re-evaluate everything. cars simply not in a position to warrant power upgrades at this point. so i finally heard back from the shop. need to put a cat on the DP (figured this) and the RR tire is dry rotted. so after some researching and back and forth. i settled on the following. ordered a high-flow cat-3" to weld in on the DP. (best i can come up with now) and im buying a full set of Continental ExtremeContact DWS to mount on the stock rims. im bumping up to 225/45/r18. as i feel i can get away with that safely without any body mods. (ill look into slightly wider tires later once i get the car in decent cleaned up shape. tires should be here monday, cat who knows. then hopefully in the next 2-3 weeks itll be on the road.

Atta boy. Your tires will be fine, its what i run. Though you wont want to go wider.
And dont sweat it. I had my 6 for a year and a half before I had it ready to start adding power.

its def a test in patience thats for sure. $610 later i have the tires and cat on their way. next up is the hood rust spot and the rear bumper:) and if im somehow lucky enough...track down rear exhaust shrouds somehow (pray for me)

found a ms6 full rear bumper on ebay . inlucding shrouds, which are in fairly good shape. seller had the enitre bumper and shrouds listed @500. offerrede him $350 and he accepted. although more than i wanted to spend, hopefully i can wet sand the bumper to smooth out some marks, get it painted, and then fix some minor issues on the shrouds and spray them black. ass end will look like new
[doublepost=1457107465][/doublepost]also found a few speed6's that are totalled within 2 hours of me. so hoping next week i can get to one of them and pick through them. can never have too many parts haha

[doublepost=1457539265][/doublepost]weekend update** did not end up buying the bumper. after cost+shipping+paint ill have a grand into the ass end alone. gonna look a different route. got the new tires mounted and balanced. will go on the car tonight. also there was a shipping issue with the cat i ordered. so it should be here today or tm. found a guy parting his speed6 out in virginia, has a CPE catted dp on it. talking to him to see if i can get it fairly cheap.

new tires are on. high-flow cat is in. need to drop the car off tonight to get the green light on the enhanced inspection. once thats done ill be heading to the notary to get the paperwork done and then the waiting begins. once the plate gets here (whenever that day is) ill have to go back to the shop for inspection and emissions. the long road is becoming shorter.

still havent gotten to the notary to finish the paperwork and get plates ordered. just found out within the past week that we were approved for a house and luckily found one that we love. so the speed is taking a back seat for a bit. should be able to get to the notary today or tomorrow and finish up paperwork.

holy crap!! completely lost track of this thread! quick update. nothing new has happened. havent even had the chance to get it on the road, car has been sitting in my garage. did complete the LED interior lighting swap, so inside and courtesy flood lights are bright as everything. picke dup the materials over the weekend to fix the crack in the back bumper, hoping to have that fixed and ready for re-spraying asap. that way i can get the clean shrouds mounted, at which point ill move o the hood to fix rust. **life upsdate** bought the house, moved in, going on vacation in 25ish days, then christmas time! so hopefully should have the motor ppulled and off to be built within the next 6 months. think im shooting for 500whp but will have the motor built for more room.
