I got my crankshaft back from having the rotating assembly balanced and they were nice enough to polish the journals for me. I checked my rod-bearing clearances and they are smack dab in the middle of where I wanted them to be.
It turns out the supplier sent me a 50-1200 AEM fuel pump instead of the 50-1220. I did not catch it soon enough and tried making the 50-1200 fit. FYI, it's close, but a no go lol.
I last got to work on my MS3 in January and had just assembled my short block. I had hopes of driving it before spring. Well... four surgeries and a bunch of physical therapy later, I'm back to working on it! Two of the surgeries were routine Carpal Tunnel release and Cubital tunnel release, both on the right wrist/elbow. After getting stitches out, my hand got infected down at the nerve and up through the tendon tunnel to my pinky. My hand was like a balloon and felt like it was full of acid. They opened it back up to address the infection. It'll take a few more months to get it working right again. Click the thumbnail pics for the graphic hand pics after surgery...
Infections suck. I ended up with an extra 3 knee surgeries due to infection and my incision still opens up a little every once in a while and it’s been a few years. Looks like a great project.
