So! got a built motor, got a BT and I got crazy blow by, but compression is good... WTF right?
I had a JB turbo last year and never really noticed the burning oil smell, but this year I am on a BB turbo so I am smelling and am consuming a lot of oil. Weeks and weeks pass trying to find where in the shit its going because compression is still good! (210,210,205,210) I had given up and just went with the idea that it was big ring gap because 35+ psi dawg.
Long story short of how I found it... I was taking the manifold out and saw what I thought at first was the drain line leaking, so I decided to pull the turbo out and I saw that the leak was actually coming through the hot side:
I pooped a little when I saw this but I called PTE and they said the turbo is fine and that its one of two things, too much crankcase pressure or a bad drain set up, so I changed my drain set up to feed out of the turbo on a straight fitting, swooping into a 45 then into the block.
But now I have to take care of the CC pressure, I've been adding things and venting all the things to try and stop my dip stick from blowing out, but since I got rid of the K04 I stopped pulling vacuum on the system, needless to say that is changing now that I almost lost my turbo and all of my oil. Pictured below is my set up, yes 3 catch cans, added port, air oil separators, the whole 9.
