Best all seasons for straight line grip?

Most of you probably have a dedicated summer set up. I used to. But it's time for new tires (summer set was killed by a pot hole, my all season set that came on the car are reaching the end). For various reasons, I'm not going to spend on 2 sets of MS3 tires this year. So I've decided I will get one "good" set of all seasons.

In my previous 2011 Mazda 3 2.slow, I had the OG Conti DWS tires. I liked them (but hard to evaluate a tire with 120 whp and econobox suspension). The new DWS06 are supposedly even better. My summer set for the MS3 were the Continental DW. Loved those too, always heard they had good straight line traction due to the soft sidewall.

What I'm not sure about is whether I should be looking at "ultra high performance" (lol) or "grand touring" all seasons. Tirerack doesn't really measure straight line grip (c'mon, how hard is it to get a dry 0-60 in?) so I have no idea what to look at.

Do any of you have all seasons you would suggest?

Michelin pilot sport a/s 3+ may be your best bet. A little pricey but 40k warranty iirc so in long run probably similar cost to summers.

This is what I’m planning on getting for the ST as a compromise set.

I think dsw06 is supposed to be better in snow but that’s it.

It totally depends on much power are you on. I was in the same boat so i got nitto motivo's. There ok but 1, 2nd and 3rd on my car just spin. The sidewalls weren't as stiff as the stockers. Coming from the stock tire and there not nearly as snappy but its to be expected from a AS.
Instead of buying 2 sets you could just get 2 summer tires on a set of extra wheels for the front. Thats what i did last year. I was going to get the michelins but i didnt have a lot of money so i got the nittos. Do you care about wet performance?

I went with conti DWS06. 235/40/18 on my 18x8.5 wheels.

We will see how this plays out.

I'm definitely not expecting to hook 1st or 2nd. My "extreme DW" summer tires didn't. But anything will be better than these kumho bricks that came on the car

They're holding 3rd gear pretty well on the 93 tune in 70* weather. I would guess this makes probably 320whp/330wtq.

The Kumho Solus TA71 that came on the car would not hold this.

How are these tires holding up for you? I had them on my BMW X5M, and loved them!

I had a set of DWS06 before. Not bad when new, but got very loud as it started to wear down. Wasn’t really that impressed with it. I’m currently running Cooper Zeon RS3-G1 tires and i like them over the DWS06. When i have to replace tires, I’m getting the RS3-G1 again. Cheaper than the DWS06 and handles just as well if not better. Straight line grip is decent too. It chirps in 2nd gear, so did the DWS06, but i have learned to control the throttle to avoid this. Handles wot at 3rd gear just fine. Seems quieter than the DWS06 too.

I had the old Conti dws liked them but the tread life was not great only got like 40k miles out of them when I got 35k out of the stock dunlops. I put on the new gen dws and I don't think I would automatically get them again
