Big turbos

Hey guys. I'm wanting to upgrade to BT in near future. I had been reading everything I can about the Bnr S4 and the Cst4. Both seem very similar with maybe the Bnr having more HP potential.

I have learned about the Gtx2867r recently but really can't find much about it and the MS3 platform. When I ask about these models on facebook its hard to get any feedback about any of these.

Anyone have insight into any of these turbos, pros and cons?

I would like to hear what you have to say. Especially about the Gtx2867r.

Thanks all

whats your overall goal? what kind of fuel? direct injection only or will you be adding port injection?

I'm not really sure on goal but something around 400whp sounds nice. I don't want the car to be unmanageable. I would like to learn more about a meth setup for down the road along with the bigger turbo. I could see spending some time prior to investing in the meth set-up as I'm still learning about how it is set up.

CST4 is best bang for buck if your goal is 400 whp DD. It offers better spool than the S4 and taps out around 450whp. DD wise and stock block/fueling it is a good place to be. Once you add extra fueling "meth or PI" you can use more if it's potential but then after 400whp you start to run into other limitations such as stock rods and stock clutch. I had the CST4 tuned to 375whp with an e30 blend and it was a good time.

Thanks man. Is an external waist gait worth it or needed?

Cst4 seems to be the easiest route these days.

People can have issues with internal WG flow and bigger turbos. External might be worth it to you if you have those issues. A nice external wastegate is $$$$ and then you either need to dump it into the earth of back into your exhaust which is also going to cost. If you want all the noises go external wg and dump it. I had some issues with the CST4 internal WG creeping in the winter time. I believe the flapper was hitting the downpipe.
