Building for the road course...again

So this guy sees the matrix. Pretty cool that he was able to accomplish that on the fly over a 1 hour phone call.
Im pretty sure this is just the beginning...of a whole new chapter.

I was very impressed just in the fact that the dude took over an hour to talk to me and just go over everything. His first question was a qualifying question before we got started, "do you know how the damper adjustment knob/needle valve works?" i was like 90% correct. After that, he went full beans lol. Guess he wanted to make sure he wasnt wasting his time lol.

The rear is so incredibly bad that its causing all sorts of chassis dynamic issues. The fact he watched my video and saw what i was going to mention, means he knows what to look for and he actually watched the footage which is sick. Definitely +1 for customer service.

These guys technically owe me nothing so i am impressed. He had the simulation going, my videos going, everything. It was like i was actually talking to a human who gave a shit!? what a concept

Most of the time dealing with companies, you just need someone who cares. most companies dont give a shit and thats just too bad.

I am hoping to find some good lap time here. at least half a second, maybe more. With how off the rear dampers were it sounds like the change will be significant.

Next up, i need to pack up these dampers and ship them out.

The engineer is working on new shock bodies for me as he mentioned they will need to be longer with more stroke to accommodate the helper spring setup.

It sounds like i will be on a completely new suspension!

We might have to do a few revisions so after this season we'll evaluate and see if we need to modify the dampers any more in any direction, or try more/less spring rate. Let the tuning begin!

That's awesome.

Whats the hook up? I wonder if they'd do something custom for my 323.
I just applied for a sponsorship with them a few months ago and they accepted me.

This was their first hook up for me lol. I got a guy over there I contact and he sets everything up.

I am very new to this level of support. If they make a 323 coilover they can definitely customize it

Ahh that explains the level of support then. Knowledge is the most valuable thing they can give you.
Absolutely. Dude definitely shared some good knowledge.

I don’t know that I would expect this level of support for just anyone. It should be a competitive advantage from me. Even half a second gained here would be massive

They don't make a coilover for a 323/ Mazda BG platform. I am at that point I need to have someone go over my setup and better spec out a setup. The Ksports I have aren't offered anymore and whats out there is bottom the barrel cheap for the general enthusiast... It's time I start saving for something custom.

This is the current state for both of my buddies tracking their Hyundais. Both cars have no shortage of upgraded turbo/power mods but you want a good Coilover? Too bad.

I’m at the point where I’m chasing tenths so any gain is huge. Based on the conversation with the suspension engineer the car should be night and day. We’ll see.

Let’s hope for minimum 5tenths worth of gain! That would be massive

Went to try some helmets on saturday since mine is expired now. I want a snell2025 of course. Budget up to ~$800cad. It’s more difficult than you’d think lol.

Took a look at these guys
The racequip looks the coolest and fit well but it was snell2020. Retail price $1100 they offered it to me for $550

The Sparco helmet was apparently the entry level. $1100. Heavy as hell. They didn’t have a size that fit me so couldn’t try it. Seems Sparco is low on my list.

Then I ruined my entire life and tried the fucking stilo. Holy. Shit. Feels like you are wearing nothing. Just air. Tons of customization for padding and visor and this and that. Incredible. Much lighter than the carbon racequip. $1500 snell2025. This is the stilo entry level

My current helmet since I started track driving is a Gforce entry level. Snell2015. Was ~$450 back in 2018. It’s very light for what it is. 0 features. Not even Hans threads but it got the job done and was super comfortable.

Stilo and Sparco are both FIA rated. That doesn’t really matter for me. The guys told me to come back in January when they have more 2025 stuff in stock for me to try. I am debating the stilo at 1500, good for 10 years vs the racequip at 550 good for 5 years. I like both but ultimately I wanted 10 years. The math works out where the racequip would be cheaper vs the stilo of course. Idk. We’ll see in January

Maybe I go aliexpress and order a snell2025 sticker for my Gforce helmet. the stick is 16$ LOL

Sitting here unsure if I’ll have an engine for the 2026 season.

I am still very salty at Wiseco. Their bullshit cost me a lot more than just the pistons they sent me. This has fucked me up bad. Much anger. Fuck Wiseco. I hope a Chinese company buys them and changes the name. Fuckers.

Fuck Wiseco for real.

My machine shop is still closed. Been a month. Not sure when he’s returning.

Not sure if I’m gonna have an engine for 2026 and running another season on this oem long block is so fucking boring
