Eibach Race Springs line, right? I've always heard such great stuff about Swifts, and I ran their Spec Rs before going to the Ground Control setup. I was very happy with them. In terms of conventional performance springs (not coilover springs), I still think they're tops.

But I was talking to a well-known/extremely reputable setup/racing/tracking/track support shop (at the tracks every weekend) about maybe swapping out the Eibach Race Springs on my GC's with the Swifts coilover versions one day if I ever changed spring rates. They adamantly insistent it would be a BAD thing to do. In their practical experience (which is extensive - hundreds of cars), the first time Swifts get full compression/coil bind, they're never the same again (in a bad way). They recommend Eibach Race Springs and Hypercos to all of their customers, never Swifts.

They are Eibach pullbar springs commonly used on older muscle cars. Swift doesn't make anything that fits in the rear, but I've seen plenty of people run Swift stuff without issue. If you're hitting coil bind on a street driven car you're doing something wrong. You should always hit your bump stops, or worst case scenario, your frame stops before the coils bind.

I was looking at Hypercos but after seeing Clint's test results of his 800lb/in springs I decided against it. I'm absolutely loving the Eibachs so far.

I ran Swift Spec Rs before the coilovers. No issues at all; loved them. But they're a different animal altogether; totally different spring type.

Well, long time no update. Haven't had a computer for about 4 months now so I haven't been super active and I always forget I have a build thread on this forum. Anyway, for those who didn't know, my grey 6 was totaled back in late November. Had a somewhat nasty accident on the highway. The car wasn't in bad shape but I decided to buy it back and part it out. I bought @Micha s old 6 right after xmas, drove it for a week while the roads were nice with no salt and now it's in storage until spring peeks its head up.

So a quick rundown of the new car:
Built bottom end w/H11 headstuds
PTE 5862 turbo
HTP 4" intake
TR1035 intercooler
JMF intake manifold
CP-e exhaust manifold
Kozmic downpipe
CS catback
Forge BPV
Clutchmasters 850 twindisk clutch
Upgraded tcase bearing caps
6th port fuel injection
Bilstein B6 shocks
H&R springs
CS and TT diff mounts
CS RSB
TT FMM
DM RMM
Massive DM PS cooler
3 gauge dash pod with AEM gauges

The car put down 460whp on a 90* day so it feels pretty good in the 30* temps. I've got some things that I'm changing up that I hope to have finished before spring hits:
- Converting JMF mani for PI (car is out of fuel right now)
- Drop DW300 pump into passenger side tank tophat (because two pumps is better than one. The 300 will feed just the PI and the 265 that's on the driver's side tophat feeds the DI and 6th port)
- Wiring for two SS controllers (keeping the 6th port for now)
- Fix FMM (I broke this sometime during the week I was driving the car, I like powershifting and so does this clutch, see picture)
- Swap over parts from grey car (TMM, rear springs, possibly front brakes as well)
- Change out shifter cables (going with some midwest controls cables, Micha had them pop off once or twice and I don't want anything costing me time at the track)
- Possibly port my spare throttle body (Not a whole lot of discussion on TB stuff but I think there might be something to be gained by doing a quick brush job on it)
- Oil change
- Clean engine bay and make sure there's no leaks anywhere

Already have the JMF at work and should have it PI worthy by the end of the week!


I'm really crossing my fingers for a short winter and that by mid March I can have everything done and start tuning the car with the PI kit. My goals for this year with it are 600whp and 10s. I think both are pretty doable as long as I can keep the car together. I've kept pretty much all of the driveline stuff from the grey car except the trans which a local needs more than me at the moment. I'm anticipating at least one or two broken axles, so I still have all 4 from the grey car and I've emailed DTA again about making rear axles (if you are interested in having a cheap rear axle option I urge you to as well) and I might pick up a spare front or two from Rockauto since they're only $40 a pop.

Well things have been a little delayed due to a small hospital trip resulting in a couple days off work earlier this week but yesterday I finally put the holes in the mani. It'll get welded up next week and then I've got to figure out what color I'm gonna coat it.

Got the bungs welded up yesterday, just need to get the rail mounting points on and coat it and it's done. Also my injectors came in the mail, went with FIC 1000s.

Haha I wish I could tig Al this smoothly. I had one of the fabricators at work weld it, I just did the machine work. Other than doing a couple test hits I never got around to using that aux kit. I have it in my basement now, maybe I'll get back to it someday.

I have kind of a similar set up im planning to run but on the damond mani plate with do2 nozzles. Havent really had the time to check and see how it atomizes at 50psi which is why i was curious.

Nice! Should be decent still since they're so small. If you can, crush your fpr a bit to bump low side pressure.

Double redundancy FTW! It's nice to have a backup for your backup, right?
Though I know he's going to be aux fueling-dependent anyways...

Plus he has 1000cc injectors for the PI, so thats more than enough for 700hp.

6th port was already there. It's more work for me to take it out than leave it in right now. Also I may need it once I take the jump back to my s362sxe. I may take it off in the future. As for the dumps, they'll return but that won't be for a while.

Do you have any logs from that 362sx-e you wouldn't mind sharing? I have been strongly considering that turbo and am curious as to how it might spool up compared to my 35r. We have different setups but it'll be interesting to see.

Unfortuntately no. My computer's HD went corrupt a few months ago and I lost everything. With my twinscroll setup it was usually spooled around 3800-4000. That was on a 1.25A/R turbine housing too. It's what I miss most about my old setup honestly. The turbo isn't the be all end all but it's just about impossible to beat its performance for how cheap it is. Also I've seen a couple evo guys brush 800awhp with it, so it's pretty capable for its size. I'm thinking about putting one of Bullseye Power's tct or batmowheel comp wheels in it when I put it back on the car.

Made up a bracket for the custom shift cables which I should hopefully have any day.



Also, repowder coated my battery tray cus it was covered in battery acid. It's pretty much impossible to make this color look good on my phone, but I'm loving it.



Just finishing up the manifold. Another 10 hours or so of polishing and then it'll be ready to put back on the car!

I finally finished my manifold, just need to give it powder. Took a little over 20 hours to polish it and I couldn't be happier with how it turned out!





I also made my SS controller disconnectable. I'll be making the three harnesses for it once I get the second controller and figure out where I'm mounting them.
