cam timing

I replaced the intake VVT cam gear and watching some videos on this part I noticed some were locked when you got them and they had to be unlocked, the one I got did not have that feature, is that ok? I did the whole TDC and cam locking proceedure with the special tools. the question is can that cam gear be put on in any position?

There is no special orientation between the cam gear and vvt
